It doesn't get much cooler than a Hudson Hornet! This survivor is in great shape and wears a fantastic Meadow Green paint with off-white roof treatment. Wide white wall bias ply tires with stock hub caps and miles of chrome really make this Hudson stand out. The seller states that the 24,120 miles are original, and it is certainly believable since she retains that original cloth interior! The AM radio was a $100 option in 1953 and it sits proudly in the dash. Seat belts have been added for extra safety, and you can seat 6 with bench seats front and rear. There are courtesy lights in the door jambs, which is a unique feature. You can't look anywhere on this car without seeing a Hudson emblem! On the hood, the trunk lid, the door panels, the glovebox door, steering wheel, ashtray and more all let you know you're looking at a Hudson Hornet! Under the hood sits the Twin H-Power 262 CID Inline 6-cylinder engine. This was introduced in late 1951 and became standard in 1952. It produced 170 horsepower and 275 lb ft of torque stock and 210 horsepower with a tune. This kept Hudson out front in stock-car racing for years. The 1953 was the last year for this body style before a major redesign in 1954. The 53 featured the same basic body as the 52 but with an updated grill and simulated air scoop hood ornament. The Hudson Hornet was brought back into the spotlight with Disney's Cars, where a Hornet named Doc Hudson taught a new racer how to drive! If you want to stand out at car shows or just have a rarely seen cool 50s cruiser in your collection, this 1953 Hudson Hornet should be at the top of your list.
