1940 International Harvester D2 Pick up Truck. Flat bed Stake Body. 3 Speed manual transmission on the floor.213 Flat head 6 cylinder engine. Has the original stake bed rails and hardware. Has original spare tire mount under bed. One of the neatest things about this truck is the SINGLE WINDSHIELD WIPER!! I guess the passenger didn't matter. This is one way they can show how their trucks are made for work not comfort. Has all original hardware for doors and windows. The windshield cranks out for ventilation. The floor panels are removable enabling you to service items underneath. The doors are solid and close like new. the air cleaner is the oil bath type. it is still 6 volts wiring for starter and generator. Original Headlights and Bezels. Has turn signals mounted on fenders where the bullet type original marker lights would go (they did not have turn signals in 1940). The front grille is pushed in at the bottom a bit where the hand crank would go. fairly easy to straighten it out.It is currently not running. It will need plugs, wires, Points, Condenser, wiring redone etc. This will be an easy and inexpensive project to complete. If you want me to get it running for you, let me know and add another $500 to have the above mentioned items completed. otherwise it is sold as it is at this time.It will need new tires as the ones on it are dry rotted. Brakes need to be gone through. This is not in driving condition but certainly won't take a lot to get it there.This is so original I would probably keep it the way it is. If you are into street rods, this would make an excellent and stylish one.I guarantee you will be hard pressed to find another in such original and solid condition such as this one. A 79 year old truck with solid frame, floors, doors, cab corners, fenders, hood, etc. It does have bumps and someone many years ago did an amateur restoration on it. Believe me.
