This 1968 Porsche 912 coupe was built into a Monte Carlotribute car by R Gruppe member Troy San Jose. It now runs a 2.7L motor out of aCIS-equipped 1975 911 and features a number of upgrades that make this912/6 well-suited for vintage rallies, street, or track use,including triple throat 40IDA 3C carburetors and S camshafts. A set of Deep SixMaxi Light Fuchs are included, along with a set of 5 factory steel wheelswith tires. With approximately 4000 miles added since the build wascompleted, this Porsche has been sorted and is ready to be enjoyed. It is soldwith a clean New Mexico title.Vic Elford won the 1968 Monte in a 911 and this car wasstyled to resemble the 1960s factory Monte Carlo racers with brightTangerine paint, rally lights, sponsor decals, and center-exitexhaust. All decals are high qualityvinyl and easily removed.The car sits nicely on Bilstein Sport shocks that wererecently installed at all four corners. In addition to the aforementioned Bilstein Sports, the suspension hasbeen modified with rear over-sized torsion bars and adjustable spring plates.The brakes also received new pads and rotors, in addition to rebuiltcalipers. A new master cylinder wasinstalled earlier this year.The rally theme is carried through to the interior witha Momo Prototipo steering wheel, Rennline kick/toe panels, RS-spec lightweightcarpeting, RS lightweight door panels, 917 style wood gear-knob onthe upgraded short shifter, and a color matching roll bar. The seatshave been redone and remain in great shape.The motor is a 2.7L CIS donated from a 1975 911.
