1966 Datsun 1600 Roadster formerly based in San Luis Obispo, California and was acquired in 2007 by the owner of a marque restoration shop in Mesa, Arizona. It underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2008, the car is powered by a replacement 1,600cc inline-four paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Modifications include ZTherapy carburetors, a lowered front end, Libre wheels, a Momo steering wheel, and a modern sound system. This SPL311 is offered with service records dating back to 1984, documentation of the 2008 refurbishment.. The interior was reupholstered in 2008 and features black velour seats and matching vinyl and carpet, added seat belts and a Momo Prototipo steering wheel, though the stock steering wheel is also included. The 2008 refurbishment included repainting the body in red. Work was performed by previous owner’s restoration shop, Spanky’s Auto Body, in Mesa, Arizona. Front and rear badges were deleted during the repaint, and the remaining chrome brightwork shines.. Period-correct 14” Libre wheels, wear Kuhmo Solus KH16 tires. Competition lowering springs, and a new black top. The 1,600cc R16 inline-four was sourced from another 1600 Roadster and installed during the refurbishment, been fitted with rebuilt ZTherapy SU carburetors. An electric fuel pump was also added as a backup for the mechanical pump, which was left in place. Recent service included a tune-up, new battery, gas tank . Shifting is through a 4-speed manual transmission. Super clean!!!! Runs Great!!!
