CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
This is a one family owned and beautifully restored 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix that came from California. It is, and always was, rust free. NO rust repairs at all. Body is super straight and it was totally disassembled and taken down to bare metal before getting the mirror finish base coat clear coat paint job. It was a factory black on black car and a factory 3-speed manual shift on the column car. I was told the original owner had the dealer move the shifter to the floor. I researched the Hurst shifter and found out that model shifter has not been available many years, so I'd say that is a true story. It shifts great. I did also find a complete set of original shift linkage if you would want to put it back on the column. All that is missing is the actual shifter handle which may be the same as a Chevrolet of the same year range. The underside of the car is spotless. Not even surface rust. All replaceable items such as ball joints, steering parts, bushings, brakes, shocks, etc. have been replaced. This car has only 59933 original miles put on it since new. The engine is a 389 4 barrel. It is numbers matching. The carb was bad so I replaced it with a new Edelbrock 4 barrel with and electric choke. The original carb will be included. The engine bay is highly detailed. Much better than when it came from the factory. Both sides of the inner fender wells and the firewall were painted with the same shiny black paint. I would rate the paint as a 9 out of 10 with 10 meaning absolutely flawless. The engine runs out great with no issues at all. You could fly in and drive this car any distance to get back home. The interior is excellent. The front seats have been recovered but all else seems to be original and in super shape. The chrome on the dash is in great shape. It has a factory tachometer, floor mats, and center console. The steering wheel was sent off to get a complete restoration. I checked with a company that does that work. The price the guy gave me was $1900.00 to restore one. All factory gauges work as well as the aftermarket temp and oil gauges. Horn, wipers, radio, lights, etc. all work. The speedometer and odometer work but the speedometer registers a bit faster than the car is actually going. Maybe the bigger tires? The clock does not. The dash pad was replaced. It looks great from inside the car, but from the outside thru the windshield you can see a small wrinkle in the corner by the "A" pillar. The chrome and stainless trim overall is in excellent shape. There is no pitting around the window metal which is a real rarity. The tail panel does have some very minor pitting as it is pot metal, but it is not that bad to require re-plating unless you just want it to be perfect. I would not mess with it personally . You have to get real close to see it. It has a remote controlled exterior mirror. The glass is all in great shape. Any weather stripping that needed to be replaced was replaced. I have the original 14" wheels, tires , and hubcaps. The tires were dry rotted, so I replaced them with new, and went with 15" wheels to get a larger and taller tire. Less than 500 miles on the new tires. I put vintage Pontiac poverty hubcaps on the wheels with SS trim rings to give the car a factory look. The trunk is in excellent shape also. New liner installed. Original jack included also. This car looks good as new and drives as good as new and rides as good as new. No rattles, wind noises, etc. Call Dave at --- ( three 14-732-592 five ) --- for honest answers to any and all questions before you bid.
