CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
For Sale – 1969 Mustang Boss 302 - Calypso Corral (1 of 410)The Boss story:This is a nice driver example of the rare and desirable Calypso Corral limited addition pony car with 1628 cars produced. The color of this car is, arguably the most desired of the 4 available and my personal favorite, having owned 2. The color combination really pops.Code 1969 Colors Quantity9 Bright Yellow 6493 Calypso Coral (Vermillion) 4106 Acapulco Blue 375M Wimbledon White 194Total 1628The 1969 Boss 302 (Hi-Po) engine was created in 1968 for the SCCA's 1969 Trans-Am road racing series and to homologate the engine for the series. The unique Ford small-block engine featuring a thin-wall, high nickel content block casting. It differed substantially from regular 302s, with 4-bolt mains, screw in freeze plugs, and heads using a canted valve design being developed for the planned 351 Cleveland (basically a Windsor block with Cleveland heads) and much more. The Car:As stated previously, this is a nice driver version of a rust-free Legendary Boss 302. The car was first sold in Los Angeles California, the previous owner, bought the car out of Texas, which would lead me to believe that the car spent its life out West, it is currently in Kentucky. Unfortunately, with limited knowledge of what transpired in those 50 years, it is conjecture, except for the clean undercarriage.Over those 50 years, someone change the standard interior buckets for Mach 1 style comfort weave high back buckets. Also added were the following non- stock items, tach and other gauges, MSD ignition, modern carb, air cleaner and updated hotter cam. Adding these items, made the car a very nice, easy to start, easy to cruise, Boss 302.The engine wasn’t the only thing tweaked to make a Boss 302, “a Boss 302”.Below is a list of those standard feature and what the car has installed or off the car. I may have missed something, but I will try my best to capture them. I feel, “that honesty is the best policy!”Engine – 1971 Service Boss Block D1ZEAluminum Intake – CorrectFree Flow Exhaust Manifolds – HeadersSmog – Long GoneCarb – Correct but off car, car has newer Holley installedDistributor / Ignition System – MSDTransmission – RUG AG Correct, but is close range not wide rangeRear – N-case / 31 splines not sure what gear is installedStaggered Shocks – CorrectAir Cleaner / Base / Snorkel – Lid is correct, base looks wrong, no snorkelFan – CorrectFuel Pump – WrongRev Limiter – Long Gone69 Shifter – Hurst installedRolled Lip Fenders – CorrectUnique Boss Paint and Striping – Correct$52,900Thanks for your interestKevinText me any questions. 410-845-9135
