This 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 Tribute offers vintage appeal with modern resto-mod configurations and tasteful customizations. It has one of Ford's most coveted, era-appropriate power plants, a 351 Cleveland, underneath its hood and is a head turning representation of the Ford Mustang decked out in one of its most beloved, classic option packages. From the black, scooped hood with ram air system decals, to the elaborate stripes running the lengths of its sides, this '71 has been resto-mod-configured and customized to appear as a Boss 351s of its year - one of the most excitement-inducing model variations Ford ever conjured up. It's a good looking, road ready "driver" in its current state. Its sport roof body style was a big hit when introduced and combines with the uniquely contoured lower window line and long hood to give the car a very distinctive look when viewed from the side. The front and back bumpers are ok condition, all exterior fittings are securely in place and clear glass surrounds the cabin. The Boss 351 emblems on the front fenders look nice and crisp and the pair of hood pins sitting at the front of that elaborate, dual scooped hood is in good working order. The car has had some sheet-metal work and body panel replacement from prior owner’s restoration resulting in what today is a nice driver-condition car. Climb inside and you'll see that the interior is in good modified shape and sports custom gauge configuration. The high-backed bucket seats show only minor wear and sit astride a nicely proportioned center console that provides some welcome interior storage space, as well as a convenient place to rest an elbow. The Mustangs of the early '70s rode on a longer wheelbase than their predecessors and a nice dividend comes in the form of increased rear seat legroom - you'll have no shortage of eager passengers when you bring this classic home and they'll be comfortable in back. The white accents on the seats look to be in good shape and the custom installed gauge package is a really head-turner! A clean dash pad runs the width of the cabin - always a welcome find with UV sensitive black upholstery - AM/FM/CD stereo still stands by to provide your audio soundtrack while out on the road. In back, the trunk area sports a factory-looking rubber mat to keep the elements out & the comfort in.This is one nice driving classic Mustang. The 351 Cleveland under its hood is one of the most respected engines Ford ever offered. A 4-barrel carb, as well as an Edelbrock intake manifold, have been added to maximize its output. A Ford C-6 automatic transmission sits just behind it, so this classic offers a great "hands on" driving experience that puts maximum control of performance in your hands. Power steering makes for easy navigation, while power brakes that feature discs up front bring this vintage set of 14" wheels outfitted with RoadMaster G/Ts to dependable stops. The car’s restoration is probably 20 or so year old but still looks good. Note that this car has had extensive modifications done over the years to be more resto-mod than original factory correct but it looks good on this car. It has had some bumps, bruise, wreck repair and rust restorations along the way and there are a couple of bubbles showing in the paint currently, but again, it is a basic driver and it is almost 50 years old. This car recently had a complete bumper-to-bumper service done by Stephen Becker Automotive group including:· High-Crank Battery Group 27· R&R fuel tank, send to radiator shop to be hot-tanked and cleaned· R&R radiator, send to radiator shop to be hot-tanked and cleaned · Thermostat & gasket· Master Cylinder · Heater corer · Wiper system with motor· Coolant Flush Treatment + Full Service· Oil Flush Treatment + Full Service· Brake Fluid System Flush + Full DOT Silicone Fluid Service· Transmission Fluid System Flush + Full Service Pan Screen, Gasket Kit, Etc· Carburator re-build· Rear Axel Dope Drop flush + Full Service· Wiper Blades FoMoCo · Clean, wash, wax, clay-bar full detail Inside/Outside/Under hood, Trunk & Under-Bod· Full Tank of 93 Octane Union-76 GasolineThis BOSS 351 Tribute is ready to go and is waiting for its new owner to take it on a new roadway adventure!About Stephen Becker Automotive Group:Stephen Becker Automotive Group has over 150 cars in stock. Previously available only to a select group of companies and celebrities, SGB’s invaluable expertise is now available to individuals contemplating the sale or purchase of a vintage Shelby car.“For years, MOPAR, Corvette and Ford collectors have had access to detailed appraisals from experts in those cars, but enthusiasts have not been able to tap a form program when considering the purchase or sale of a Shelby,” said Becker. “With the expertise, records and access to details of Cobras, GT500s and GT350s available through me, collectors can now have the knowledge they need when making a decision on a Shelby they want to purchase or sell.” Becker personally has performed evaluations for years and attended key collector car auctions for a small group of corporate clients like insurance companies and manufacturers. In late 2009, Stephen Becker provided an appraisal of 75 cars in the corporate and museum collection of Shelby American. The appraisals were done for Shelby’s insurance company, which requested current values of the extensive collection of significant cars. Other high profile corporate and celebrity clients have included the famous Shelby Parts & Restorations company, as well as leaders in the music and entertainment industry.“Shelby cars are usually considered blue chip collectibles, but each must be carefully inspected and appraised to understand the true value,” noted Becker. “Not only is it important to ensure a car is a genuine Shelby, it’s critical to understand its history. The value difference between a survivor car with great provenance and a Shelby ‘rebuilt’ from a few major components left over from a wreck can be hundreds of thousands of dollars.”Stephen’s knowledge and extensive library led to the creation of the Becker Certified Shelby Certification program. A proprietary 25 point inspection and exhaustive research provides the most thorough report on the market for genuine Shelby vehicles.Over the past decade, Stephen Becker has been retained by key automotive groups, collectors and industry leaders to authenticate and value Shelby vehicles. This led to the creation of a program for individual collectors and enthusiasts. When completed, a client received a detailed report with a history of the vehicle, if available, and documentation to validate the value.Since 1977, Stephen Becker has been regarded as a leading authority on 1960s era Shelby Cobras, GT350s and GT500s.
