For Sale is my 1974 Porsche 914. Below is detailed honest information about the car. The car is very fairly priced.I bought this car off of Panorama from a fellow PCA member who unfortunately wasn’t as honest as the rest of us. It has had hellhole rust and repairs, unfortunately, the repairs will probably have to be re-done, as some of it was done with fiberglass. So, the bad first:• The sills have had rust repaired with fiberglass• The passenger side jackpoint is rusted and will need to be cut out and new piece welded in.• The left rear wheel well was patched with fiberglass and will need proper repair• There is a dent in the drive side front quarter panel• Some rust bubbles at the top of the passenger side near the targa• Some other various paint issues - I believe it's the original paint• The temp gauge isn’t working – easy fix, it needs to be re-wired back to the sensor.The good:• This is a driver and is sound enough to drive around town and enjoy. I didn’t buy it to be a beauty queen (thus the price), but I wanted it to be as mechanically perfect and safe as possible and just enjoy it.• It is presentable enough to take to shows as a driving restoration. It always draws attention and thumbs up.• I bought this in April this year and have put considerable time and money into it.• All new brakes – everything – new lines, rotors, 19mm master cylinder, calipers, pads. Completely new system.• All new front suspension – turbo tie rods, torsion bars, all bushings, bearings, koni yellow adjustable sport shocks, bump steer kit, I’m probably forgetting something here.• New tires, less than 100 miles• New 40 dcoe dual carbs• New ignition system – rotor, condenser, etc.• Fuel pump• Gas tank removed and cleaned out. Checked for rust underneath – all good• Momo steering wheel – original comes with the car (these alone sell on ebay for $900)• New exhaust from Triad West – this is an incredible exhaust and makes the car sound like a 911. It’s hand made. http://triadwestperformance.com/• Interior is near perfect. Perfect original dash. The driver seat bolster was just professional refinished.The car runs great. I’ve been buzzing all over town in it today. For the price point, this is an excellent buy. You can either continue to work on it, or just drive it and have fun, which was my intention. Remaining mechanical stuff I was going to do would be rear shocks and coils.Why am I selling? I took my 2012 Panamera S into the shop Friday because of noise in the transmission tunnel. Saturday I got the call that the PDK was shot, and needed a new one for $13k. No way. I traded it to the dealer who will wholesale it, and I bought a new Macan (don’t laugh, my options were limited). So, my wife says sell the 914 so the new car will stay in the garage. After a healthy discussion, I lost (I knew I would). So here we are, my loss, your gain.Unlike the previous owner, I believe in Karma, and am an honest seller. All questions will be answered truthfully. BUT, for a very fair reserve, this is a steal. I also have boxes of original parts, the complete original fuel injection system, set of older Webers, etc.Let me know what else I can answer for you, and I san send a ton of pictures.
