CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
1972 GT6 MKIII for parts or restoration. Not currently running. Relisted With Additional Information and Lower Price- This came in with another MKIII that was sold some time ago. It looks like a previous owner started on a restoration but didn't go very far with it. - There doesn't appear to be any major body damage and any rust looks like it's just surface rust. The floor pans have some rust on them but are not rusted through.- Vehicle has been kept covered but outdoors. - Status of the frame is unverified but our mechanic says it's straight and good to go.- We were going to do an inventory of what's there and what's not but the number of items to have to go through was just too extensive and would have been too time consuming. From the looks of things however, it appers that most of the big, important (read: expensive if you have to buy it) things are all there. Take a look at the photos and judge for yourself- The driver side wing window glass is missing and will need replacement.- The gauges are in good shape and should function. Obviously you will have to clean the dust out of them.- The Speedo has 55,578 miles indicated on it (or about 88,925 kilometers for you die hard British fans).- We are uncertain as to the status of the teakwood dash panels or dash medallion but will keep looking just in case. Even if we do find them, they will likely need to be replaced.- The transmission has the factory overdrive with the switch in the shifter. As far as we know, the overdrive works and the switch is in functional condition. - Engine turns over with external battery. Compression has not been checked. - All numbers match- Vehicle has clean notarized title ready for your name. PLEASE, no tire kickers. But, if you absolutely must know if a specific part is there, ask us; IF AND ONLY IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS BUYER. And no, we will not pull and sell just that one particular part. Judging from the noticable lack of listings for complete MKIIs and MKIIIs or major items for them like the engine, transmission, doors, gauges, on Ebay, Etsy or anywhere else, this car is worth what we are asking. Found on internet and/or Ebay: Reconditioned gearbox w/OD - $1287 +shipping. Engine/gearbox only combo listed on Ebay is going for two grand so we didn't think $2500 for the whole enchilada was too bad but $2200 was even better but boss says $2000 as we have another opportunity knocking on another estate sale.We would prefer it if the buyer came to pick up the vehicle in person. But, if you really want the car that bad and just can't get out to Montana, (winter isn't coming.....it's here) we can help you (help means help. We can point you in the right direction for a shipping quote) make shipping arrangements or for storage until you can come get it. If you would like us to handle all the arrangements, that's possible with the costs associated paid prior to shipment. A down payment of $500 is due within 48 hours of commitment to buy with remainder due within 5 days. HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINEYes, we need the space the car is taking up but we're not desperate so we aren't just going to give it away either. We have had our research department looking into the price of used parts as well as new parts and are quite confident we are in the right neighborhood pricewise on this vehicle. This is either a restoration project for the enthusiast or a donor vehicle for your current project or simply a parts car for others who may need parts for their project. Boss says $2K and we'll help arrange shipping or storage.
