Description Please read the entire description and view all photos before bidding. You are looking at a Vintage Survivor 1948 Simca Cabriolet. It has been stored for much of it's life in a clean Wisconsin garage. We are unsure of the model and originality and will require a complete restoration. This vehicle was owned by the previous family since the 1950s. It could also make a unique hot rod or rat rod or restore it to original. Please scroll down and enjoy the 60+ photos. If you cannot view all the photos, please click According to automotive sources, Simca (Société Industrielle de Mécanique et Carrosserie Automobile; Mechanical and Automotive Body Manufacturing Company) was a French automaker, founded in November 1934 by Fiat and directed from July 1935 to May 1963 by Italian Henri Théodore Pigozzi. Simca was affiliated with Fiat and, after Simca bought Ford's French activities, became increasingly controlled by the Chrysler Group. In 1970, Simca became a subsidiary and brand of Chrysler Europe, ending its period as an independent company. Simca disappeared in 1978, when Chrysler divested its European operations to another French automaker, PSA Peugeot Citroën. PSA replaced the Simca brand with Talbot after a short period when some models were badged as Simca-Talbots.Condition Report:This vehicle was stored for years and is in need of a complete restoration. The photos show the condition, including minor surface rust on the frame, as well as the quarters, etc. It is not for the faint of heart and will also need a full mechanical restoration. There is evidence of old mouse nests and we do not know the condition of the motor but it is free and turns which is a great sign. We do know it was driven into the garage so it did run when it was stored am long time ago. It does not run and we did not want to turn it over until properly prepped. The good news is the rarity. Find another one, especially a convertible. It deserves to be restored. We are unsure how much of the body is original, factory, or custom. We were not able to find a VIN tag but the title shows a VIN of 852251. The title is a clear WI title in the consignor's name.
