For sale is a 1963 Corvette Grand Sport Replica kit car produced by D&D. Jay Leno has driven replicas of these cars that are valued north of $150K. This kit new from Mongoose will run between 30-50 grand depending on options!This is the cheapest restomod body and frame combo that you can buy on the market! This car will be 300-700lbs lighter than a stock mid year!This is a very nice body and frame for a grand sport. The car is believed to be produced in 1992. They made a couple hundred of them. The molds that were used to make this car were based off a factory mid year that was modified with a mid America grand sport kit.Please check out my YouTube channel Mid-Year Mitch if you are interested in the car. I made a video on the car and did a good evaluation of the car and talked about the significance of them. This car uses a 4” diameter tube chassis that accommodates C4 corvette suspension. It has a Dania 36 rear end and the early C4 suspension components. The car has a roll bar that ties into the frame. The body was covered in a rattle can primer to protect it. I began stripping it off to see what the glass looks like underneath. The glass is very nice! It needs body work and blending between the seams that the molds left but it is in very nice condition. The doors and trunk need to be fitted and the two half’s need glued together. The body needs to be reinforced to support the door hinges, pedal assembly, and steering column. The back of the car by the trunk also needs to be supported. The hood also needs work on the underside and it needs mounted and fitted. This car uses stock mid-year door hinges and latches. They are included in the sale along with stock C2 door reinforcements from a convertible. I have used C10 truck door handles for the car (that’s what they used). It includes a steering column from a C2. It does not include the side pipe covers shown in the first picture. All the interior fiberglass windshield trim is included. The entire car needs work because it is almost fresh out of the molds. It was never built and only started. It is a great blank canvas. I am selling the car because I don’t have the space to do the body work. The car does not have a VIN but I have the paperwork from D&D that would be needed to get a VIN. There is no engine or trans included in this sale. The seats are 80-82 cushions in fiberglass buckets. If you have any questions let me know.
