| Looking for an affordable easy to restore classic car? Then this is the car you want, more then reasonably priced, almost everything is still on the car, its missing some small bits like the mirrors, the shifter knob but the rest appears to be all there and original. The car starts, runs, drives. The engine is the original, hasnt been hot-rodded or fooled with, it looks like it was rebuilt at some time as the paint on the engine is in very good condition, its missing the air original cleaner,the car has power steering but the pump has been removed, the dash and instrument panel is all original with no modifications, it still has the OEM radio, the exhaust has a healthy tone with no leaks.The car was purchased in 1991, driven home were it has been sitting since as part of a 50+ car collection, the city wants all the cars removed which is why it is for sale. Its been "customized", was originally Black, the paint is flat red and white, some checkering but still looks good. the interior is serviceable ,the seats and carpets were redone in 1991 but show the typical drying out that 28 years of sitting in the NM sun can do, the chrome is all in good condition, the rear seats have some cracking but are serviceable, the carpet is red and in good condition and surprisingly, so is the headliner. The pictures show it "as found". Ive cleaned it up since then and the dash pad and seats look pretty good. Starts right up, no knocks, taps etc, transmission shifts into forward and reverse, I drove it into my yard from the flatbed using a fuel line and a can of gas, keep that in mind for the transporter. The tires were new in 1992, The car is an easy project , there are no major rusting or broken windows,the floors are solid, the windshield is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The weatherstripping is cracked and should be replaced. No keys so I cant test any of the electrics but the wires all look to be in good condition with no cuts or additions, no trunk lock. Shows about 5K on the odometer but the actual mileage is unknown. Comes with clear 1991 New Mexico title.The car is being sold as a 60 year old car project car. | |
