The 1974 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty 455 was rated at 290-300 horsepower (depending on the source) and 390 lb. ft or torque! Compare that to the same year big block Corvette with 290 horsepower, and the 185 horsepower from the baddest Camaro you could buy that year.
