The first owner drove the car to California to attend Stanford University and later secured employment in Charlottesville, Virginia. The second and current owner bought the car from him in 1995, owning it for the last 24 years. Several years ago he freshened the car by having it repainted in the original Verdoro green color, and had the engine rebuilt and detailed. The interior is original, but shows it's 51 years of loving care. The hood tach ceased to function long ago, as many of them did due to the jar of closing the hood. This is why the Sun tach is present, and it is a great period piece of equipment. Many Pontiac restoration outfits offer kits to rebuild hood tachs now, should you as the third owner choose to do so. The car starts easily and idles smoothly, though the original Quadrajet can be a little finiky. It is an absolute pleasure to drive, and that legendary Pontiac torque is available in all 4 gears, at any point in the power band.
