CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER | |

This is a classic time capsule that still looks like it did in the 70's. I purchased this from a gentleman that has kept it stored in a clean dry garage for 30+ years. He purchased it from from a man that licensed it last in 1983 and has been in a garage since that time..I still have the 83 license plate I took off the car. It has some rust but very little for it's age.The chrome and stainless is original and showing it's age. There is the usual front floorboard rust but not bad and the back floor boards are fine. The frame is solid. The front seats have some tears in the seams. They look like 65 impala seats. The old boy put license plates over small holes in the trunk to keep water from coming in.That's just the way we did these old cars in the 70's.They were just old cars to us!The trunk deck has rust on the inside panel at the bottom but does not go through to the outside panel. The windshield has a couple rock chips and scratches from bad wiper blades.E-bay has 57 windshields for $199.+shipping.It needs new exhaust. The cloth headliner has been removed but the bows are still there.Quite a bit of work has been done since it left the garage to make it roadworthy.Oil and filter change.Gas tank was drained and cleaned,Rebuilt wheel cylinders and master cylinder.I put a new water pump on it because the old one was seeping water.I changed out the anti-freeze with fresh antifreeze.I put new radiator hoses and heater hoses on it. I replaced the generator with a new1 wire alternator and it is charging great.I replaced the water pump and crankshaft pulley with new matching pulleys to get a good true alignment and new fan belt.I put a factory newly rebuilt Rochester 4 jet carburetor that works flawlessly.I dressed the engine up with new chrome. This great running 327 V-8 engine and manual floor shift makes this car fun to drive. The engine has not even the slightest tic.It carries 40 lbs.oil pressure which is great for an old engine. The engine is very responsive when you give it gas. It is licensed and titled in my name. As everyone knows, these 57 Chevy 2 door coupes are one of the most appreciated classics ever made and are usually restored and have a price tag on them that not many can afford but this is the exception.I have included a picture of every angle of the car and have described it as well as I could and you are encouraged and welcome to come look at the car in person.I'll let you start it and drive it up the road. There are numerous companies that sell chrome bumpers, emblems and stainless trim and they are very reasonably priced because of the competition.E-bay sells nearly everything for these cars. You can drive this car the way it is with the patina looking like a 70's Hot Rod or take your time and make it what you want.I have the car priced below( low retail) so it will be a good investment. You can bid with confidence,I have 100 percent positive feedback. If needed,I will give you time to get a shipper set up for delivery and will help in any way i can.The car is not in my way,It will be fine in my garage .Thanks for your interest and good luck. Danny. |
