This 72 cj5 vehicle was built by Miller's Classics in NY. Miller recently passed away so his vehicles are now very highly sought after because high standards and workmanship . My uncle commissioned this vehicle to be built to his specifications at a cost of $89,000 in the 90's. He used it rarely at summer fairs. The engine is a blueprinted and balanced built 390 from a correct era AMC AMX with a nice cam and other upgrads. It has 2 1/2 ton Rockwell axles w/ differential disc brakes, Borgwarner Muncie transfer case (case pict attached) and a Hydra-Matic GMC transmission. It has dual 4brl Carter carbs on a ofenhauser manifold. The winch is a Ramsey 8000 lbs ( needs hand controller). The rear wheels can turn hydraulically. When you turn the front wheels the opposite way, (since it's always in 4 wheel drive): punch it a bit and the truck will spin crazy in a circle. It was insane, i do remember that!!! (Rear hose connection to the ram needs a O ring or thread sealent). Hood opens hydraulically as does the rear tailgate. The 44in dirt dawg tires are like new, so yes I use a little step ladder, entrance is 50 in off the ground. Extensive use of stainless everywhere. Everything is hand made and custom. The frame is 12"x 1.5" channel that is powder coated. The Jeep has about 30 hrs on the build. When my uncle passed he left it to my cousin and when he passed away recently he left it to me. The truck needs 4 zipper axel boots which are 75 each on ebay. My whole family have always been car nuts. My uncle was a 4x4 nut my dad built mustangs and I build VW buses. This vehicle would cost 125k to build now, it's a pure steal. It is currently registered and titled in CA in my name. Street worthy but would need street tires and mud flaps on it for the road.... Thanks again. Final payment if cashiers chk needs proof of clearing b4 vehicle is released. 30 days free storage. Will assist shipping drop to close location In flat area zip code 91902. |
