Check it out on YouTube! Videos of it running and close ups! PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU’RE SERIOUS Selling a 1968 Toyota Corona 2 door. These cars have become very rare, especially the 2 door models. The 1.9 liter with a manual 4 speed transmission is also the most desirable option as the automatics were gutless. This is a California car that was parked in a storage facility in Oakland where it sat for 20 years. Before acquiring it, it was a one owner car and comes with at least 10 years of registration cards to prove it. Having sat unused for so many years, it hasn't racked up many miles, currently there are 63,904 miles on the odometer. It is almost 100% complete with almost everything on it being original, including engine, interior, paint and even hose clamps. This Corona is an excellent candidate for an easy restoration, being so small and simple, it wouldn't take very much effort to make it look like the day it rolled off the assembly line. The are some areas of rust that would require attention, mainly the gas tank cover and trunk area, driver's side front corner of roof, bottom of doors and most of all the very lower edge of the quarter panels on both sides. The photos should show these rust areas clearly. The original carpet was very tattered and so a new set was installed. Other than that the interior is original. Front seats are worn while the rear seat is in very good condition. Has the original jack equipment. The engine runs well but the fuel line is connected to a gas can in the engine compartment since the gas tank is not functional. It's very drivable however the brakes will need to be bled as a new master cylinder was just installed. This car is going to be featured in an upcoming episode of the famous show, Chasing Classic Cars, with Wayne Carini. The episode was filmed during Car Week in Monterey California, where Wayne takes part in a lot of events, including the lighthearted, Concours d'Lemons show. Included are pictures of Wayne in the Corona and a video of him driving the car on his way to the show is also available upon request. The episode will air sometime this November and it will certainly add to the provenance and collectability of the car, not to mention it's value after the episode airs.located at Dodi Auto Sales in Monterey CA |
