Paste link into a browser window: [isdntekvideo] This car was built in the mid '50's and was a show and drag car with an Olds engine. It won best of show in 1957 at the first rod show, which later became the "World of Wheels" by Promotions, Inc.. It was in several shows in the following years and always won its class. I bought the car from Bob Howes in 1964. The olds engine was replaced with a crate 327 Chevy and Chevy drivetrain. This car traveled all over the East coast to Rod Runs and to the midwest to the Street Rod Nationals. On one trip to the Nationals we went through 14 states, ending in Colorado.NO TRADESAbout 2009, the car was taken completely apart and a body off was done. This was my third body off. The frame was sandblasted and powder coated. The body was not repaired but was totally cleaned. A crate 305 Camaro with F.I. and professionally rebuilt 700R4 with a narrowed 9 inch Ford rear were installed. A 1972 Pontiac GTO instrument panel was installed. Ron Francis wiring kit, in fender lighting, and many other refreshers were done over a few years. The latest addition is the radio with screen, wi fi, etc.This car has never been rusty and was never left outside (except while traveling). But at 82, and a wife suffering from dementia, we will never use this car again. After sitting in my garage for many years, I had to get a mechanic to replace a rear axle seal, rear wheel cylinder, flush the radiator, change the fluids, etc. There are items that need work: there is no spare tire. Two grille mouldings are missing, the electric windows work, but they are slow, The cruise control has all components in place, but is not wired, Of the five street rods I have built over these 56 years, this was clearly the most pristine and fun to drive. It is a pleasure to drive and attracts attention wherever it goes. Has always been kept in a heated garage. Below are the specifics BODY & PAINT All steel and original to the car sheet metal, except for the left front fender which was an NOS item replaced back in 1964. 2-stage black urethane paint which is approximately 20 years old. No bubbling or blistering present. New Bob Drake running boards Power Cowl vent the windows are original and in excellent condition The chrome is either NOS or replated. Custom exterior LED side marker and turn signal markers (see video) Note the grill is missing 2 of the chrome strips on the right-hand side. Currently there are no dashboard lights, and the cruise control was installed, but never connected. The exterior front left turn signal and LED fender light do not work (wires need to be reconnected) Engine & Transmission Fuel injected 305 c.i.
