1959 Mercury Voyager Hard top wagon, Rust free car in great shape and complete. 3 owners since 1972! This 59’ voyager has had a Ford 460 swapped in backed by a C6 automatic and a ford 9” rear end. The engine and transmission were installed by the last owner who did an excellent job, looks as if it was original to the car. Car runs great and stops great. The engine has an Edelbrock performer manifold and an electronic ignition added for maintenance free driving. The front brakes have been upgraded with what looks like a Granada front disc brake package that retains the factory wheels. The rear has factory brake drums in like new condition. The exterior is in good driver condition, I believe the main body of the car is original paint but can not guarantee it. The roof seems to me as if it has been repainted. There has been a repair on the driver side tail light housing area " pictured". Looking from the inside there is no indication of metal replacement /work done, just paint repair. The passenger side has been damaged,"pictured" the worst is on the rear quarter panel but is also on the doors and rocker panel and wheel trim. There are dark stains on the paint: on the hood under the emblems and on the driver side door, " pictured". Even with the damage this car presents itself very well. All doors open and latch very nice. I do have a replacement stainless rocker trim that is in better shape than the one on the car but still would need a fair amount of work. All other trim is complete and in good shape. All the glass is FoMoCo glass in very good condition. The interior looks to be all original, but is has seen better days. The seats are complete but the vinyl has tears and the stitching is separating. The dash pad has lost its shape bending down preventing the glove box door from closing. The door panels are complete as well as for the rear rubber floor mat that is in good condition. The head liner is complete and the original perforated cardboard which is very hard to find. The dash lights are the only electrical item that don’t work on the car, I’ve never spent the time to figure out why. The Seat-O-Matic front seat works great in all positions. The rear tail gate window works also works great with the factory switch. There is documentation of 3 owners including present since 1972. Also with the car is the original interior build sheet. The rear quarter glass has some pretty awesome vintage travel stickers. This vehicle is also equipped with a hidden hitch. The odometer shows 65815 but have no documentation confirming it. This Wagon comes with a clean California Title under non-operational status. Any questions or pictures needed please feel free. |
