1967 Jensen Interceptor Restomod "Merlin" Jensen Interceptor 1967 Merlin Custom Restomod Vehicle Overview 1967 Jensen Mk1 Interceptor This is a very unique opportunity for Jensen collectors around the world. Nicknamed, 'Merlin', this Jensen Mk1 Interceptor has traveled the world multiple times and has won more awards and ribbons than any normal container can hold. The documentation is endless, the upgrades and customization is out of this world and this car has been cared for relentlessly by its owner for decades. Remote access, electric spare tire holder, a dynoed 370 hp. 383 cu. in. are only a few of these meticulously modified personal upgrades. The car is in terrific shape with only very minor flaws and runs and drives very nicely. Included are brochures, countless awards, plaques, ribbons, awarded dinett sets, hundreds of dollars in extra interior leather, replacement parts and special additives and oil treatments. This Jensen has it all and is ready for a trip across the country or abroad. Of the 1,024 Mk1 series Interceptors built by Jensen approximately 369 survive. Of the approximately 78 left hand drive series built, 36 survive. The owners are aware of only 2 LHD Mk1 series in the United States that are also on the road. Of the Mk1 series, this was the only Interceptor exported to Monaco. After a couple of months of its original purchase, it was sold to a gentleman employed by a secret service/security type unit of the US Government. This vehicle traveled extensively to places such as Ireland, England, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq & many places in between. It was even transported on an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean. It came to the United States around 1971 and continued its travels throughout the USA. K&D purchased the car in 1992 and painstakingly rebuilt it keeping the original Italian ambiance of the late '60s and modernized & customized for reliability and a few creature comforts. It was built wife-proof! It took several years of spare time to totally rebuild this Interceptor. It has been on the road since 2002 with 44,000+ miles now on its restoration. From Seattle, WA area, it was driven North to Western Canada, South to Los Angeles, East to Utah and across the USA (New York into Eastern Canada) and in England/Wales as well. It has won all the Jensen Nationals Best of Show it has entered: West Coast 2002, East Coast 2003, West Coast 2010, 1st in England's Jensen International Concours Show in 2004 in Windsor, UK. Always first in class in various local shows British, American Classic & Street Rod events.
