I bought this car to be part of my personal collection of 60 or so collector cars. I was attracted to it as I do not have any dune buggy type cars in my collection and this one had the 4 seats so I could give my wife and 2 kids rides etc. I used it this summer here and there in town and to home from my office/showroom and in a parade. I decided to offer it for sale as the weather is getting cold here and I wont be using it until it warms up in spring. I was told that these were made in Indiana as a kit assembled by bremen on various vw chassis. This has a vw 4 cyl air cooled engine. The engine runs great. When I bought it, I noticed that one of the push rod tubes was leaking minor oil. I replaced with new tubes and while my guy was in there, we installed new push rods. Fun snappy driving car. The manual 4 speed trans shifts good. Tires look really good and the keystone mags look great on the car. Brakes stop the car nice. The head lights and tail lights are working. I saw the gas gauge did not work. The fiberglass body has survived pretty good and has a nice sharp look. The top fits on like it should. I do not have the side curtains. The interior 4 seats make this really fun to give rides with. The seats range from really to good to just okay (the driver seat has a tear along a seam) The underside looks really nice and solid, I did not see any rust issues starting o the floor etc. Definitely something you can start to have fun with right away with out tying up crazy money and decide if you want to take to another level. I was told by the previous owner that it is a 64 vw chassi, a 70 vw beetle engine. This comes with a clean title ready for you to register. it is titled as a 1979 special 2dr kit reconstructed. Call me with questions and I will do my best to answer them, remember that I am not a expert in kit cars/bremen etc, I bought this for what it was and had a blast with it this last summer and fall. I require a 250 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. if i do not get the deposit before you come for the car or within the time frame, i will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I invite you to come check it out in my classic showroom at my dealership teddy's auto sales waukon iowa or hire ebay to do a private inspection. the plates and plate topper do not go with the sale. I can help recommend shippers i have used before who have been very reasonable.
