Here?s the original listing from April 2019 from the gentleman who restored it. I couldn?t download his restoration photos as they were protected files: ?The original Camaro convertible sold to Miami area dealer Pete Potamkin in 1968, with the original VIN and trim plate. The car has undergone a complete frame-off restoration over the past 5 years to a driver quality car. It is not a show car but a nice looking driver. No rust. Painted in the original colors with the original style and color interior. This is basically a new car with lots of time and money and hundreds of hours invested in the car. A rust-free convertible that is loaded w/features for a great price. It would cost you nearly 80K to restore one w/all these features. This one is already done for you. ? (See bottom for updated info) ?The car has SS and RS features added as well as the following: electric RS headlight doors new fenders and doors and quarter panels new trunk pan new white deluxe interior with custom sport seats new trunk lid new trunk mat new crate engine 350ci power front and rear drilled disc brakes new brake lines power steering power top, windows, door locks remote door locks and keyless entry aftermarket AC and heat (was a factory AC car) new complete floor pans rebuilt TH350 transmission all original restored chrome trim new battery updated tubular front suspension with adjustable front coil overs w/wrench tool for adjusting GM tilt steering column Original Camaro 12 bolt posi-traction rear end w/3:73 gears Convertible sub-frame connectors Updated new vintage USA gauges w/fuel, tachometer, oil pressure, voltage, temp built in New front and rear spoilers New top and well liner New power top motor cylinders and lines New front to back American Auto Wire wiring harness Performance front sway bar New tires and 15? rally wheels New water pump New Holley 650 carb w/electric choke New Edelbrock performer intake (painted engine color) New headers w/dual exhaust into a single Flow Master muffler w/dual outlets New dual horns New windshield New USA One stereo w/iphone input New Lemans blue paint w/white SS stripes (decals) All four original cocktail shakers (weight cannisters) in place New multi-leaf rear springs? UPDATE Nov 2019: The restoration referred to above is now a couple of years old but all the photos and video are current. The car has approximately 10K miles according to the speedometer. This is not a matching-numbers car, obviously. Here is a link to a video of the car running, Copy/paste to your browser: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1UWQ4jY_O2zdd7iTCdZdUZ53XZDtrNKqI I have only done a little work to the car, but I?ve been driving it once a week(usually) locally. The car cruises fine (over 30mph), sounds awesome, and rides/handles decently. It could use some suspension work in the front as the tires rub (inner fender well plastic) over speed bumps so I?ve purchased original type Moog springs and Billstein front shocks, included in this auction but not yet installed. I?ll include a small box of a few misc spare parts that will go with the car. I was going to buy the original type A-arms to raise the front up a little so the tires won?t rub over the many speed bumps in Santa Fe. I installed rear air shocks also. The car could use valve cover gaskets, typical Chevy. The rear end has a little seepage but no oil spots on the garage floor. I have the gasket (included, not installed). I just installed new spark plugs. Definitely needs better tuning at this altitude (7,200 ft elev.). It stumbles a bit taking off and probably would run great at a lower altitude or sea level as you?re losing 20% power at this altitude. As I said it does cruise fine 30-60mph and I haven?t gone much faster than that as I only drive it locally. I did wrap the headers also. Obviously a car this age has its quirks. There?s all new trim around the trunk and doors so they?re sometimes hard to shut(probably could use a little adjusting). Windows could also use adjustment because they rattle a bit (if not all the way down). Passenger window needs a little"help' to fully close. Car needs one side chrome window trim piece on rear driver?s side. The paint has a few blemishes that can?t be seen from a few feet away, mostly on the hood and a few other spots (rear fender etc). They look like rough spots but as you can see in photos the car looks great overall. Remember, this is a driver not a Barrett Auction car and is priced fairly as such. Always kept in my dry/heated garage. Never driven in the rain either. Believe the previous owner did the same. This is a Great Deal!Highly recommend you come to see the car, if possible. You're also welcome to send someone to do so. Shipping is up to the buyer. I've had good luck with uship.com. |
