If you are looking for the styling of a pristine 1959 Corvette convertible with the power and handling of a 427 stroker motor, power steering and disc brakes, read on… This “Vette-Rod” takes its cues from Street Rods, always striving to build a better handling, faster vintage car. The quality fiberglass body, believed to be fabricated from Downs Industries, is exact in dimensions to the original. Finished in GM medium green metallic with white coves, there are no dents, cracks or dings in the body. Body sits on a custom box tube frame and upgraded front and rear suspension. Polished 16” American Racing wheels give a hint to the modifications under the hood and body. Soft top in excellent condition (needs to be in the sun and stretched), black tonneau cover is also included. Motor: Power comes from a 427 c.i. small block Dart stroker motor, balanced and blueprinted, Comp roller cam, AFR heads, Probe SRS pistons 9.8:1 compression, Barry Grant Demon 750 carburetor, Torker II intake, MSD ignition and Zoops serpentine belt system. There are less that 2,000 miles on this $11,000 motor. Aluminum dual fan radiator. Driveline: Power runs through a 700R-4 transmission to the four-link rear, 9 inch Ford 3:55 limited slip differential. Q1A coilovers, tubular front A arm suspension with sway bar and power steering. Four wheel disc brakes. Interior: Interior has been modernized with new upholstery, Auto Meter gauges, Vintage Air heating and air conditioning and power windows. New convertible top is stowed behind the seats. If you want to drive your car, not have to trailer it because it rides and drives like a 50’s car, this is the right car for you.
