(I'm sorry I had to remove my listing, I found a typo on my title that I didn't find acceptable. I took my title to the BMV and they corrected it and sent it off. I paid for a speedy return so I will have the title back before the auction ends.) I can now relist it because the BMV informed me that the new title has been sent out.Sorry for any confusion. I am selling my unrestored 57 that was recently taken from a 35 year sleep I recently purchased this car from a local gentleman that bought it 35 years ago and put it in his clean, dry garage with plans to restore and time got away from him and he chose to sell it. If you were to restore this car this car you would need to replace most of the chrome and stainless, interior and paint job.The trunk lid has rust through on the inner panel but does not go through the outside panel. The windshield has a couple rock chips and scratches from bad wiper blades.Needs new wiper motor. The seats are not original. The front floorboards have a little rust,(see pictures). The rear has none. That's why they make rust repair panels for this car or just do like the old boy done in the trunk, get you a couple old license plates and pop rivet them over the rust holes and drive it. That's the old school way, but if you just wanted a cool old classic to cruise around in,this would be a great one.Don't do anything but put you own personal touch to it and "Drive it like it is" well, put some new exhaust on it. It's loud. The frame is solid. The original 283 engine was replaced with the better 327 engine. It runs great and holds 40 lbs.oil pressure. The tires were badly dry rotted so I replaced them and the old wheels. They are not new tires! The gas tank was flushed and a new gas line was installed. I would recommend buying a new tank since an original tank can be purchased on ebay for $85.00 and free shipping.I flushed the radiator and refilled with new coolant, replaced top and bottom coolant hoses including heater hoses. The old water pump was seeping so I replaced it with a new one.I replaced the old weak generator with a new alternator and it charges great.New matching pulleys and belt. The old carburetor didn't suit me so I replaced it with a newly factory rebuilt duplicate 4 jet carburetor, painted the engine with proper high temperature engine paint and dressed the engine up with new chrome. It runs and looks much better.I have driven the car up and down the road I live on with no problems and it is a fun car to drive with the loud pipes, and the 3 speed on the floor and just the fact that it's a 57 Chevy but I would recommend trailering it home, after all It did just came out of a very long storage and needs to be driven close to home for a little while and checked out before you take it on a long trip.If you have been looking for an old classic to buy, this one is priced right. You can buy anything you want for this car right here on ebay and there are numerous companies that sell parts for them which make it great because they have to be competitive on price. I have done my best to honestly describe this car.Any questions, feel free to ask.Text me at 812 493-2510, call's take up way too much of my time,so text me please.I'm selling it because I'm looking for a newer 3/4 ton 4x4.Compare the price of this car to the others on here.Don't miss out on this rare chance to buy a 57 Chevrolet 2 door hardtop at an affordable price. I have 100 percent positive feed back so you can be confident when bidding.Thank you and good luck. Danny. |
