1967 Ford Mustang FASTBACK! If you’re in search of a great template for a fastback project for restomod or to return to original, this is it! This car is a C code (289 cubic inch with a 2 barrel carburetor) that still has its original floor pans, solid and nearly rust free- barely a spot of surface rust, check out the photos. The rear quarter panels are the same way. Pinch welds on the fenders and car frame are intact and clean. It was a California car, for most of its life, and has been stored in my garage since then, so it has far less rust than most cars you’ll find. The car originally came with factory air, which is unhooked at the moment, but compressor comes included with the car. It also comes with a stack of new parts still in the box that I’ve collected over the years- new carpet, new kick panels, new dashboard, new rocker panels, and much more! I even have new Shelby side scoops and a new fiberglass Eleanor-style hood that could be negotiated into the sale. Engine runs well (I start it up once a week, only ethanol free fuel with stabilizer), transmission engages solidly, but the brakes need some work before it hits the road (it still has the original 4 wheel drum brakes, and they’re sticking/not engaging, so you’ll want to trailer the car to wherever you’re going to work on it). It does have scratches, some small dings, a bent door edge on the drivers side, and that outside door handle sticks a bit. The seats and most original interior panels are in pretty good shape for their age.Why would I sell it? I originally bought this vehicle during the 2007-2008 recession when prices dipped with the hopes of restoring it. Shortly after, my wife moved her business home and then we had a couple kids. My wife’s business is still at home, our garage has become storage for her work, and my two little boys keep me busy every free minute I have! So unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that i’m going to be able to start this project anytime soon, and after waiting 10 years it’s time to move on. These original fastbacks are getting harder and harder to find, especially ones that are solid. Don't miss out! Feel free to message me with any questions I can answer! |
