1963 Chevrolet Nova SS up for a no reserve auction. Ebay has gotten ridiculous with all the fees, so I am putting the starting bid as the reserve. This car has had a lot of time and money spent on it in the last year, with the complete rebuild of the Turbo 350 automatic transmission being the latest. It has about 100 miles on it since a complete overhaul and 2000 RPM stall converter installed. I just put a new battery in it and serviced with 20w50 Valvoline oil and filter. The engine is a 406 c.i.d. small block Chevy built by Young's Racing Engines. It has about 1500 miles on it and runs flawlessly. It is a strong engine and will turn both back tires with ease. No expense spared on the build. Block was bored .030, decked and lined honed with new freeze plugs and cam bearings installed by Foley's Machine Shop. It has new Keith Black forged pistons, Speed-Pro file fit rings, Comp Cams "Mutha Thumper" hydraulic cam with new lifters and double roller timing set. Clevite bearings, Summit racing oil pan to accommodate the steering rods for the conversion to a V8 engine. MSD ignition, melling oil pump, heads completely worked with screw in studs, guide plates and roller rockers. 2.02" intake and 1.9 exhaust valves. Aluminum intake, Holley carburetor, headers and complete new dual exhaust turned down behind the rear wheels. Power disc brakes were added and the complete front end was rebuilt at that time also. I don't know for sure if this is a true SS car and I don't know how to tell. Black interior is in well above average condition. Get in this car and drive it as is. If you find something about it you don't like then change it thru the winter and hit the streets again next spring. It has a 10-bolt GM posi-trac rear end that is geared 3.36, so it is fun to drive. The car is not a show car, but a well above average cruising Nova that you can get out, drive and enjoy without spending money on it. The car could be driven home easily if you want to put the gas in it. It does run on 93 octane as the compression is about 10.5 to 1. The drivers side floor pan has been replaced, other than that I cannot see where any other panels have been replaced. The trunk pan is very solid and rust free. Cowl induction hood has been added. Front and rear bumpers, grille, rocker panel chrome and headlight trim has been replaced. I have a trunk full of used chrome that will be included with the car. New door weatherstripping installed also. A full set of factory SS hubcaps are included. Its a nice driver quality car that you cannot begin to build for the starting bid. If the winning bidder wants a shipping quote I have a shipper that I use and he is very reasonable. Please take a look at all the pics and ask any questions. I try to describe the vehicles as best as possible. Please look at my feedback and seller rating. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. |
