The ’47 is built for a road touring car not a show car. It has most of the modern features of a 90’s street rod has. Power Steering, power brakes, a/c-heat, tilt, electric driver’s seat with lumbar, automatic, Camaro suspension, etc. The drive train and suspension comes from a ’81 Camaro. The paint is good but has Knicks and scrapes from mostly the guy I bought it from, who drove it 20 years. I have a document book that shows his stuff and some build pictures from 1997. The car is in my opinion a 15 footer, although people ask if I go to car shows with it……..It does not look like a turd or beat up rat rod as you can see. I could not find any rusted-out sections or panels on the coupe other than surface you see under the car. The car was originally a white car. The front of the car has a clear wrap installed for the trip and cab above the windshield. The glass is older with passenger door glass cracked but works great. Windshield is in great shape along with the electric wipers. Back glass and rear are dated but decent. All windows open and roll up perfectly! The new door locks work perfect. The last year I went thru just about everything to make an upper Midwest vacation pulling our ’47 Kit Teardrop. That meant leaving nothing untouched from engine to rear differential. If you can think of anything on the car, I repaired, serviced or replaced it! You get the idea. The Car drove fabulous rides and steers superb. We met a bunch of people, since pretty much every time we stopped, they checked the car out and couldn’t believe we drove all the way up from the Houston area!!! The front end is perfect, and the nubs on the new tires are still visible across the tread after over 2200 miles! All the lights, heat, brakes are as good as any 2019. The ’47 drove on the road with no pulling or swaying etc. The new exhaust is rod quality, where it has tone outside but no drone or overly loud inside while driving, but you can hear the nice V8 sound. The running gear has great power with clean exhaust and the transmission shifts perfect! In the pictures you can also see the vintage tow hitch and wiring that could be easily removed as well as the backup LED lights on the rear valance. If your looking for a vintage street rod you can drive anywhere, then this is the car. I have too many other cars and need to finish a’50 Ford coupe that’s been sitting all year.If you need and additional pictures or information don’t hesitate to ask! I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime since it is also going to be for sale locally. |
