CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER | |

Selling my 1979 Volvo 242, It's in the best shape I've ever seen a 240 in, runs perfectly nothing beyond the lightest of surface rust around a few paint chips, which is understandable given that the car still has it's original paint. This car came up from Texas only two or three years ago, making it nearly impossible to find a cleaner 242 in this area. The engine was rebuilt 60,000 miles ago, it still has the original 2.1 Redblock, but it was bored out to around 2.3l according to the previous owner. Interior was redone around the same time as the engine was rebuilt. Recently I had the back half of the exhaust replaced with a better flowing exhaust and muffler, as the old exhaust had a few holes knocked into it. The transmission fluid and filter have also been replaced within the last year, as well as the timing belt and ignition cap, as well as the ignition coil. The steering rack has also been replaced with a ZF rack and the pump is also new. Currently the steering is on the heavy side, This may be an issue with the new pump, or maybe a hose that needs to be replaced. It's still perfectly driveable however. The starter has also been replaced within the last six months.Reason for selling, I moved recently and haven't really had time to enjoy this car anymore between all of my other vehicles, nor do I really have room for it. It's been one of my most solid classic cars and it'll be sad to see go. |
