Besides being fun, nimble and good looking, the MG TC is credited with beginning the sports car craze in the United States after World War II. Servicemen at the end of the war were bringing these cars back to the U.S. after the war starting sports car clubs and racing them. Most of the greatest race car drivers began in an MG TC. Drivers such as Sterling Moss, John Fitch, Carol Shelby, and Miles Collier, just to name a few. Of all the MG's, the TC has the most romance after starring in movies such as: "The Way We Were" with Barbara Streisand and Robert Redford and just for its good looks with its sexy lines and big wire wheels. This 1948 MG TC is a great original example that has been well cared for throughout its life. Finished in its original colors of red with red interior this TC is stunning. Recently treated to a mechanical service which included; new brakes, steering box rebuild and the original SU carburetors have been rebuilt. Cosmetically it has also been treated to new upholstery including a dashboard recover to match the seats and a new tan canvas top. Also complete with its original side curtains that have been fully restored as well with new chrome trim and new tan canvas to match the top. Brooklands wind screens have been installed as well for top and windshield down driving which makes it even more fun! This car is listed in the TC registry and has its original XPAG four cylinder overhead valve engine and it runs and drives wonderfully. Also complete with its original INSKIP bumpers that were installed when the car was imported into the United States, they have been re-chromed as well. Overall this is a very nice example of an MG TC so if you are looking for one, this is a turn key car ready for the open road. Contact us for more information. |
