CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
1965 Ford Mustang Fastback, an original 289 4 speed car, that’s now a 1966 GT350 Tribute/Replica A code 289 GT350 Replica Original 4 speed car Manual steering Power disc brakes in front, drum in rear American Racing wheels New tires Limited slip differential with 410 gears Shelby style racing seat beltsShelby fiberglass hood Shelby Tachometer and Oil Gauges in correct Shelby pod Genuine 289, 4-speed that has undergone a rotisserie restoration in 2014, and has less than 1,000 miles since completion. This car was restored by Mustang Plus, a Mustang specialist. During restoration all original ford parts were restored and retained if possible. Sale price post restoration was $112,000. My original plan was to restomod it, but I couldn’t bring myself to cut up such an awesome car. EXTERIOR: It's a gorgeous car to look at. The fastback is one of the most desirable body styles of all time. The metal is straight and fits right. Doors, fenders, hood and trunk were refinished inside and out. The blue paint is polished and very nice. Jambs are detailed. New weather-stripping and rubber seals. Exterior chrome has been refinished, polished, or replaced. All exterior lighting was replaced. The glass is excellent. American racing wheels with new tires. The tire brand is Falcon, but Goodyear Tire Stickers were added to give it a period correct look. This car has the correct GT-350 stripes (painted), badges, hood, and rear side windows. INTERIOR: Inside the car is completely restored with new carpet, upholstery, headliner, door panels, etc. It also has new handles, and cranks. The steering wheel is an original 1965 wood wheel. The Shelby correct center gauge pod has the correct Shelby tach and oil pressure gauges. It has the correct reproduction Shelby lap belts. It also has fold down rear seat. The interior lights all work. There is a Hurst shifter. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original born with 289 motor. If you know Fords, you know I can’t say for certain if it is the original, but it is time period correct. It runs perfect. The engine compartment is detailed out to a standard better than new. Correct Ford hoses and clamps and filters. Everything is painted beautifully, all smooth finishes. It does have an Edelbrock intake and matching carburetor. It does have the correct air cleaner, Shelby Cobra valve covers, and deep Shelby oil pan. Bottom of hood is painted gloss. The car has long tube chrome headers. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The inside has all clean metal painted blue. There is a brand new tire on a steel rim for a spare and the correct plaid mat. Everything is detailed, the latches look new, weather stripping and jacking instructions decal are new etc. UNDERSIDE: It's really impressive underneath this car. It has been painted, as opposed to the original red oxide. The metal looks pristine- the frame rails, seams, 4-speed hole look like factory new. The steering and suspension are completely rebuilt and clean. Bottom of motor is spotless. The 4.10 limited slip rear end was rebuilt. The exhaust system is clean. All new brake system with disc up front, e-brake is functional. Recent maintenance: Brakes were not working properly, had a leaking wheel cylinder (rear driver’s side). New cylinder installed, and brake lines were flushed. Note, brake lines all new from restoration and are shiny stainless. New Oil/Filter on 8/4/2019 Items to note: The speedometer jumps around some There are 3 minor exterior paint chips While the overall car is excellent, the dash paint has some chips that have been touched up, so it’s not perfect, but still acceptable. Inspections are encouraged and I’m happy to answer any questions
