For sale is a 1970 Mercury Marquis convertible. The current owners father bought this new at Eagle Lincoln Mercury in Dallas. In the last few years he has spent over $20,000 in restoration. The 460 engine has been rebuilt. It was upgraded a little with a mild roller cam and Edelbrock aluminum intake. It has a new aluminum radiator with a new electric fan. The transmission has been rebuilt. The entire brake system has been rebuilt. The entire front end has been rebuilt- bushings, tie rod ends, idler arm, etc. It has new shocks, new tires. Complete new AC system. The list goes on and on. I have a pile of receipts for the repair work. The convertible top is in excellent condition and works perfect. There is also a boot for the top which is not shown. It was repainted once with a driver quality paint job. The interior is all original and includes power windows and power seat. The floor pans are rock solid but the very bottom of the trunk pan has a couple of rust holes. There is a little rust spot at the front of each door as pictured. There is one rust spot by the convertible top trim as pictured. There is a little ding on the right front fender as pictured. The two mechanical things that I have found that need attention are: the fuel gauge doesn't work (probably the sending unit) and the lower seal is leaking in the power steering gear box. It runs and drives very nice. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup or shipping. $500.00 PayPal deposit due within 24 hours of auction end. Balance due within 7 days of auction end by cash or wire transfer. Sold as is, no warranty, no return. |
