This 1971 Challenger is a factory 318 console automatic car. It now has a mid 70's 440 and 727 from a New Yorker sitting in place but not wired up to run. The engine and trans came from a running car recently. Twenty years ago, the car was driven into the shop to get body and paint, it was disassembled, hand sanded and sat until recently. The car was primed to prevent surface rusting of the exposed areas. The car still needs some minor body work before being painted. The car is very solid. Frame rails, floor pans, trunk floor, cowl, window areas are all very solid. I laid out some parts from inside the car and photographed them. Not pictured but included in the sale (stacked inside car) will be a pair of 1973-style bucket seats, the rear seat, door panels, complete dash board assembly with gauges, etc as removed from the car, steering column, rear glass (side glass is just rolled down), front bumper and whatever other small items I can locate. The bulge hood on the car is just an outer skin. I also have the factory flat hood, cut for a scoop. You can take your pick. The car was factory top banana yellow as can be seen everywhere however the fender tag was missing 30 years ago when the car was purchased. All pertinent body stampings, door vin sticker, dash vin and clear title are present. |
