Stunning 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo (the Widowmaker)It has 18,000 original miles and is finished in (908) Grand Prix White over a orange/tan tartan/plaid seat and black interior. It is a matching-numbers car powered by a 3.3-liter flat-6 engine producing 265hp mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. It sports 4-wheel independent suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, a sunroof and dual side mirrors. This is a full restoration vehicle. Everything has been gone through. Maintains books, records and Porsche certificate of authenticity.Do you know WHY the 1978-79 930 is so desirable? The Porsche was given significant and progressive changes (in 1978) and yet retained its pure mechanical characteristics.-The changes included an increase in displacement from 3.0 to 3.3 which resulted in a significant increase in horse power and an intercooler for the turbo was added. -The intercooler on top of the engine led to the adoption of the 'tea tray' spoiler. The 930 engine was developed from the 3.0 R.S. and R.S.R. race engine and made with a magnesium crankcase makes it virtually unburstable!-This 930 also has some great additions and luxury items that were options on a911 of the day...such as power windows, power mirrors, power sun roof, rear window wiper and headlight squirters. These cars were engineered and built to a very high standard of quality and performance that easily holds up to this day. This 930 is a supreme example through and through, but when we get down to it the car really needs to speak for itself. You won't be disappointed! |
