This vehicle cruises on the highway comfortably turning low rpms at 65mph. It’s a very easy car to drive, she has working power steering, so you don’t have to muscle the wheel while parking. All of the lights work including reverse and the tag light. The brakes stop the car very easily. They’re not power brakes, but they work well. The brake pedal grabs right away, no slack. All of the brake shoes are in good condition and the rear has new wheel cylinders, shoes, and hardware. None of the front end components have any play. They are all tight. All 4 windows roll up and down. There is a small power steering drip. The clutch engages perfectly, the clutch is easy to push down, and it does not slip at all. The car is very easy to drive. It shifts easily through all 5 gears and reverse. The oil has just been changed and the car has a freshly rebuilt carburetor and new spark plugs. It starts right up even on the coldest of days. It idle’s well and accelerates great. The electric choke also works fine. The car is not loud, it has a nice low to medium grunt but not an obnoxious roar. The engine sounds great. All cylinders fire, no smoke. We do not have any block #s. We didn’t see any #s on the engine. I’m told that there may be #s behind the starter, but I was not going to disassemble the car for that. The engine looks like a 289, but I have no way to verify the engines displacement nor the engine’s year of manufacture. If this is important to you please have a classic car expert determine what engine it is via the pictures and videos. We did find #s on the transmission and they are in the photos. If you want a nice driver quality car that is turn key and ready to use, you’ve just found it. The battery is new, there’s almost a full tank of fresh fuel in it and it is ready for the road. Ive personally driven the car over 40 miles on the highway with no issues. I let the car sit and idle for 1 hour and it never ran hot. It is ready to be enjoyed and used right now. The horn wire has a short in the column, the horns are new and if plugged in they do work, I've unplugged them because when you turn the wheel the horns blow due to the horn wire grounding out in the steering column. The oil pressure gauge on the dash doesn’t work but the after market oil pressure gauge works fine. The engine carries excellent oil pressure. It’s a pleasure to drive. The 5th digit of the vin# is C, indicating that the car originally came with a v8 289 with a 2 barrel carburetor. Please read on for a detailed description of this beauty! This vehicle cruises on the highway comfortably turning low rpms at 65mph. It’s a very easy car to drive, she has working power steering, so you don’t have to muscle the wheel while parking. All of the lights work including reverse and the tag light. The brakes stop the car very easily. They’re not power brakes, but they work well. The brake pedal grabs right away, no slack. All of the brake shoes are in good condition and the rear has new wheel cylinders, shoes, and hardware. None of the front end components have any play. They are all tight. All 4 windows roll up and down. There is a small power steering drip. The clutch engages perfectly, the clutch is easy to push down, and it does not slip at all. The car is very easy to drive. It shifts easily through all 5 gears and reverse. The oil has just been changed and the car has a freshly rebuilt carburetor and new spark plugs. It starts right up even on the coldest of days. It idle’s well and accelerates great. The electric choke also works fine. The car is not loud, it has a nice low to medium grunt but not an obnoxious roar. The engine sounds great. All cylinders fire, no smoke. We do not have any block #s. We didn’t see any #s on the engine. I’m told that there may be #s behind the starter, but I was not going to disassemble the car for that. The engine looks like a 289, but I have no way to verify the engines displacement nor the engine’s year of manufacture. If this is important to you please have a classic car expert determine what engine it is via the pictures and videos. We did find #s on the transmission and they are in the photos. If you want a nice driver quality car that is turn key and ready to use, you’ve just found it. The battery is new, there’s almost a full tank of fresh fuel in it and it is ready for the road. Ive personally driven the car over 40 miles on the highway with no issues. I let the car sit and idle for 1 hour and it never ran hot. It is ready to be enjoyed and used right now.
