This is a very sweet driving flashback to a simpler time. It's the best of analog driving in a digital world. This 911 Targa wears a fresh coat of its factory Gemini Blue paint with just recovered seats bringing a new and modern feel to the interior. The targa top was adjusted in 2019 when the seats were being recovered. The 2.7 liter MFI benefits from a rebuild in 2015. The engine had pulled head studs when the car was acquired by the previous owner and has since received a full rebuild. Machine work and cleaning for the case, pistons, cylinders, rods, and crank were performed by Ollie’s Engineering in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Cylinder heads were reconditioned with new stainless valves along with fresh seals and guides by Star Machine in Emeryville, California. The car sits on fresh Bilstein B6 performance shocks and further benefits from all new rubber bushings giving it a steering feel not attainable in modern cars. This feeling is heightened by the feedback of the road through the 350 mm Momo Prototipo Heritage steering wheel. The year and a half old Michelin tires are fitted to factory 15" cookie cutter alloy wheels. Shift confidently through the 915 gearbox with the addition of a WEVO PSJ Precision shift linkage that provides a positive feeling the factory part never could. The reliable nature of this car cannot be overstated. It literally starts every time you turn the key. You can bid confidently knowing you will have one of the best dialed early G-body Targas currently on the market. The body and undercarriage of this car is fantastic. The inner fenders are amazing this is the kind of car that is now and will always be at the top of the market. The car does have one or two things that always need doing. Such is the love of a 45+ year old machine. It is showing a drip or two from the drivers side head gasket and at the drivers side cam chain covers. Every time it is driven it leaves three or four drops upon return. The car was in a Porsche center two weeks ago and deemed well within reason. Heat exchangers are in fantastic condition. The clock does not work. It has a modern Pioneer CD deck with Bluetooth streaming audio from you mobile device. Please feel free to contact me for a link to additional photos and more information.I have receipts for the engine rebuild as well as suspension and other work done to the car. |
