1967 Plymouth Barracuda fastback with major restoration of original equipment around 2008. This car has been garaged continuously, being started and driven a short distance every other week.The car is ready to show and only needs minor rust repair to be a 10. The following is a brief list of the restoration work:Body: Garnet red DuPont chroma base and clear coat. Re-chromed bumpers and mirror. Factory bolt on hubcaps.Interior: Front bucket seats re-upholstered with factory NOS red diamond upholstery. Rear seat is like-new original. New red diamond floor carpet. All instruments restored in dash. Radio present but not working.Motor: Around 2,000 miles on rebuilt original 273 Cubic Inch Commando V-8 motor original block, crank, pistons and rods. Block was line-bored and cylinders were ridge-reamed at machine shop, not bored, with excellent micrometer readings. Upgraded "Direct Connection" Cam, valve adjusters, solid lifters and polished rocker Tips. Original rocker shafts and push rods.Upgraded small chamber Heads from 1967 318 CID V-8 with new hardened valve seats and 3-angle grind. New bearings and electronic ignition. Edelbrock single plane intake with a Holly 470 Street Avenger carburetor. Basically, an original Commando Block with an upgraded and more modern top end. with upgraded cam, pistons, bearings and electronic ignition. Holly 470 Street Avenger Carburetor. Recent maintenance items included new gas tank, water pump, new 3-Core Radiator, thermostat, steering pump and firm-feel steering box.Transmission: Original A-904. The transmission was completely rebuilt within the last 500 miles.Suspension: New ball joints, brakes, master cylinder, seals and freshly rebuilt 7.25 Inch rear end. |
