This auction is for my 1966 GT Fastback Mustang. This rare Mustang is a true factory GT. It's beautiful rust patina comes from being stripped to be repainted but it was never finished, then it was put in storage for many years. It's all surface rust though, the body panels, floor pans and frame rails are solid. The right rear footwell is the only area with heavier rust (This was due to rain water as it was stored with the window partially open). The Mustang has been in Southern California since at least 1981. I enjoy driving it around locally and it's been in a few local car shows. Most people like it in it's current condition and think I should keep it as a Rat Rod Stang. The original color is Emberglo (Metallic Copper). The Pony interior is Parchment/Emberglo. It'll look sharp with fresh paint. This will be an easy restoration for any competent body shop. This GT Fastback Mustang is highly optioned, it came from Ford with the following factory options:* 289-4V Engine (A Code)* 4 Speed Toploader Manual Transmission* Limited Slip Differential* GT Equipment Group-(Disc Brakes, Dual Exhaust Trumpets, GT Stripes, GT Gas Cap & Badges, Fog Lights & Bars) * GT Handling Package-(GT Springs/Leafs, GT Sway Bar, 22 to 1 Steering Ratio)* Styled Steel Chrome Wheels* Visibility Group-(Remote Mirror, Day/Nite Mirror, 2 speed wipers)* Deluxe Interior Group-(Deluxe "Pony" Upholstery, Woodgrain Steering Wheel, GT Door Panels & Handles, Woodgrain Bezel & Glove Box).* Air Conditioning * Rally Pac-(Tach & Clock)* Tinted Glass* AM Radio * Center Console * Glove Box LockThe Fastback is a good driver. After it's long storage, I rebuilt the Carb and installed a new fuel pump and fuel tank. I refurbished the brakes and installed new brake calipers. I also put in a new clutch disc. The former owner rebuilt the engine and it has almost no miles since the rebuild. He also installed some high quality Nickel exhaust headers. The A/C compressor has been removed but I have it in a box along with all the brackets and pulleys. Otherwise the vehicle is very complete without any missing parts. If you are in Southern California and would like to see the GT in person, I'm available to show it. When restored this GT Fastback will be worth at least $50-60K. True factory 4 speed GT Fastbacks that are unrestored are very rare today, this one is highly optioned and ready to be finished! |
