| This car went through a total frame off restoration about 20 years ago and was driven very little after that. It seems to be very original and complete. The car sat in a warehouse untouched for at least 18 years. The owner passed away and his wife sold the building with all its contents and I bought the car from the guy that bought the warehouse. The car runs and drives beautifully now that I have performed the following:1. Drained and flushed the fuel tank.2. Blew out and flushed the fuel lines with compressed air.3. Replaced the in-tank factory screen filter with a new one.4. Installed a see-through in-line fuel filter at the fuel tank.5. Dissembled, cleaned and rebuilt the factory electric fuel pump. 6. Rebuilt and tuned the SU carburetors with new carb kits and fuel filters. They now work perfectly!7. Rebuilt all the brake cylinders, master cylinder and replaced all the brake shoes. The car stops great now!8. Drained and flushed the cooling system. Installed new coolant.9. Installed new battery.Here's what I know about or or at least think about the car:Even though the odometer shows only 2,190 miles, I believe the car has more on it as the motor, trans and rear end appear to have more use than that. I believe the guy that did the restoration reset this to "0" when he completed the restoration.The speedo cable is currently connected to the transmission but not the speedometer. The tires have like new tread but have checking due to age. These should be replaced.The car will need a respray as the paint is checking pretty badly. See the last group of photos.The previous owner spent a lot of money restoring the car as the top and four side curtains, other than the plastic back window cloudy appear to be brand new.The chrome on the car is absolutely beautiful. (Las Vegas is good to chrome. No pitting in dry climate)There is NO RUST on this car anywhere! | |
