Hello. I am selling my Beautiful original unmolested 1962 Lincoln Continental Convertible. It is an original California Black Plate car and has spent its entire life in Nevada and California. I purchased 4 years ago from the original owners family and has a low low documented 45k original miles. The car had sat the prior 10 years of its life undriven after the owner passed and another family member acquired the car. I started a general restoration after purchasing it and replaced all the hoses, cylinder rams, solenoids, for the convertible top and restored the underside of Both trunk and hood lids. The top works when it wants to and needs troubleshooting. I don't have the time or patience to figure it out now. I kept it down most the time because I only drove it when it is sunny and in Vegas that's all the time. Tires were replaced with correct size and original hubcaps are on the car. The motor and tranny are fine. Needs to be driven more often so the seals don't dry up and gas goes bad so quickly these days, the heads have never been done for unleaded gas so they tic like all ford Lincolns do of that era without the valves being redone. I recently replaced the water pump 800 bucks! , plugs, oil, installed a electric fuel pump and rebuilt the original carburetor. The top is the original top, the interior is I great shape for being original there is a little sun fading on the corners of the front seat and one small 1 inch seam separation that needs to be sewed to fix. The back seats are very nice and all the door panels represent well for being original. front windows and switches work and so do the corner wing windows they tilt in and out electrically fine.. The rear doors were left open at a car show with the battery still attached by mistake and it burnt up the motors for the rear windows. I have new ones but don't have time to install. The car had it first respray I believe 4 years ago and still presents beautifully. The chrome is not perfect but overall very nice. the stainless top body line is in great shape and not all dented up. The car needs driven, and some general TLC and you have a car worth 2 or 3 times what I'm asking. not perfect but price reflects that. Unfortunately my moms long term Alzheimers care has put me in some considerable debt and I need to sell to rectify the situation and keep her in the best care I can. if you have questions please ask, This is a rust free, low mile, original unmolested car no crazy stereos cut in, no airbags, no ground scraping low rider etc. Drive and enjoy as is or take it to the next level. |
