Hello everyone. This has been an ongoing project for me over the last three years. I believe the vehicle was originally an Arizona vehicle. I bought it from an owner in Kentucky who said he picked it up in Arizona. The body has zero rust and the body is straight. I could not decide which color to paint it so I painted the body Toyota Heritage Blue and the bed a Toyota Cavalry Blue. Still can't make my mind up but the new owner can do what they want. There is zero body work to do and if you are going to respray it then now is the time. These are a rare bird, especially in this condition. The underside was sprayed with POR15 to protect it.It came to me as a 2wd and when I bought it I knew I wanted to convert it to 4wd. Accordingly, I bought a 1979 4wd F350 and married the 1979 drivetrain and frame to the 1970 Body. Everything was professionally done and it lines up really well. We rebuilt the 1979 Transmission and put a new Ford 400 in the vehicle along with a new radiator and electric fans. I have $25K plus in the vehicle as of today. I have the original interior, including the original metal door panels, seats (which desperately need to be redone) and door glass and hardware. It will need rear glass and windshield glass. The vehicle will need the interior finished, the electrical put in and the gas tanks routed to the fillers. The two gas tanks were reconditioned from the 1979 and there are two tanks in the vehicle with a total carrying capacity of 55 gallons. I wish I had the time to finish this, but I have three other projects including an RV build that are taking over. |
