CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
Selling this great old Chrysler. Asking $10,000 firm, that's the best I can do.it was professionally appraised at $16,200. 1964 Chrysler Newport 2 door convertible. 3 speed automatic (push-button) and 361 2 barrel engine. About 92,000 miles on it. The car is in great shape and very original. The convertible top, glass, engine, and interior are original. I think the exhaust is even original. The AM radio still works, all the lights work. It was always garage kept. The car was purchased brand new in Colorado Springs (where it is still currently located). I purchased it from the original owner's grandson who told me he is the second or third owner. I believe it has had minor paint work, but not on the entire car. Not sure why but I see no evidence of rust, patch panels, or collision damage. I planned on keeping it but I'd like to see it go to someone with a garage where it can be all the time. I do a lot of welding and grinding in my shop so the car would constantly need to be moved in and out. It needs a couple minor things. The drivers seat is torn, the fuel gauge doesn't work, and it looks like the master cylinder leaks. It could also use a proper battery hold down bracket (~$20 on eBay). I did put a brand new Interstate battery in it. There are some paint chips on the doors, mainly the passenger, likely from stuff being set up against it when it was in the garage. The original radiator core was rotted so I had it re-cored with a 3 row instead of the stock 2 row. We retained the oem tanks. I also replaced the oil pump but I kept the original.Possible trades include: other older cars, especially early 60's Pontiac's, hot rods, sporty German cars that have been well maintained (M5, E63 AMG, S5 etc.)Trade value is closer to $13,000.
