CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
It is a matching numbers car that is fully optioned. It is correct in all aspects except for one major thing: It was originally yellow with a black vinyl interior. It is now red with a red leather interior.Overall, it is a great condition- it just needs time and some TLC to put it back together again which is something unfortunately I no longer have. All of the parts and pieces are either boxed, bagged and tagged. As time went by I picked up extras and more rare parts like headrests, extra sets of PO2 hub caps, sidepipe covers, air box, etc. The only major expense to getting it back on the road would be rebuilding the original engine because a rod was bent as a result of hydrostatic lock. A crack in the valve galley was discovered and repaired. The entire engine would require re-machining. Included is a fresh 454 engine with World heads I acquired some time ago. Also included is a full smog pump system that was also rebuilt. The Holly carbs were rebuilt by Holly about a year before the lock.I pulled the engine and transmission and then decided to go after the fiber optic and vacuum issues common with this car and ordered a new dash and front wiring harness. Since I was going that far, I decided to even go further and redo the whole front end: headlight buckets, radiator and condenser. Life took a change and I never got around to put it back together again. The ‘69 fell into the realm of “Well, I’ll get to it someday.” We all know how that goes. It was last on the road in 2000 and been non-oped since. It has been stored on a climate controlled garage. Prior to all this, I had previously gone through the entire suspension: new springs, new ball joints, bushings, and steering. The ‘69 drove like a dream with everything working (except the fricking optics) including the cold AC. I did change out the differential to a 3:70- the original 3:08 goes with the car. There is whole bunch of extras and new parts to numerous to list. The transmission was rebuilt after I pulled the engine. Today, I would put in a TKO 600. The removable top is in great shape along with the soft top. The interior is clean and not worn or torn- nothing needs replaced. The bird cage is not lifting the chrome trim. There is some surface rust on the frame. If you are interested, contact me and we’ll discuss it further. It would be prudent to come and check everything out. This is not an easy project for the novice mechanic but it’s not super difficult either. The bottom line: once it’s finished you’ll have a very rare and bitchen ‘69!
