This is a true survivor. 53000 original miles. I purchased this car from Los Alamos, Texas. I am the third owner. I have the owners manual with the dealership hand written sale date and even the little payment envelopes and tags. The first buyer paid in full. As far as I can tell it has never been to a body shop. It has dings and dents all over. The paint is so thin all of the high body lines have patina. Glass is factory origonal No cracks. Has factory air ( dealerships put air in them in those days ) No radio ever and no speaker holes. The interior is unmolested. The seats have been reclothed at some point in time. The headliner is seperated at the seam and can be restiched or replaced. Currently it is white duct taped along the seam to hold it up. The dash has some splits one which is pretty large. The Texas sun is to blame. The rims have been replaced with Mach 1 rims but I do have all 4 of the hub caps along with the original jack and tire iron. The body is rock solid. The underside is perfect. No rust at all anywhere on this car. Wheel wells exactly as they came out of the factory along with the door jams, hinges etc... everything is perfect. Nobody smoked in this car. The cigarette lighter is unused. Both ashtrays are in the armrest in the back seat and the coat hangers are up top. The dome light cover is missing. The rear view mirror needs the inbetween piece repaired to be put back up. The drivers door outside mirror is original and not cracked. There are no cracks in the grill or tailights. I made a few modern upgrades. Added twin piston disk brakes to the front along with ball joints, tie rods, coil springs, control arms, rubber gromets, fuel sending unit and wiper motor. Being a machinist, I made a real nice set of shackle lifters to return it to the way it sat brand new. Motor is a 289 with a three on the tree. Everything under the hood is like the day it was purchased. I rebuilt the carb and had a trans guy change out the oil and inspect the trans. He determind it to be perfect, origonal #'s matching. I also changed the rear end lube. This car is not a posi. One tire on fire is the term I would use. It runs and drives perfectly. I would drive this car to California and back with no doubt it would make it.. I have pictures of every possible angle that I can send upon request. I dont know how else to explain just how nice this car truely is, Happy bidding |
