This is a great 1956 Thunderbird in Fiesta Red with the complementing factory red and white interior both matching the original firewall tag. Complete new carpeting finishes off the lovely interior space. This privately owned bird includes the iconic factory rear tire spare continental kit and a complete set of perfect original 1956 Ford Thunderbird design hub caps and wire wheel covers. Previous owner rebuilt the factory “P Code” 312 cubic inch engine with factory engine dress up kit as well as a rebuild of the Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission which both run and operate quite nicely. Add to that new front and rear universal joints for an extremely smooth transfer of power to the rear wheels. Factory power steering, brakes and seat all add to giving it quite a modern feel. Recored radiator, new heater core, master rebuild of the original carburetor, rebuilt generator, starter, new factory battery cables, starter solenoid and brand new proper Battery (one month old), complete new exhaust system, new brakes, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, hardware and master cylinder, brand new Firestone wide whitewall tires all add to this cars overall mechanical quality. Spare tire is the actual date coded original spare for the car and is hardtop only. Rebuilt power steering pump and complete suspension rebuild including upper and lower ball joints, inner and out tie rod ends and adjuster sleeves, idler arm bushings, upper and lower control arm bushings, pitman arm power ram and ball stud assembly, new shock absorbers along with a front end alignment all within the last 10 miles, new fuel pump, new fuel tank and much more. Engine just tuned up with new spark plug wires, plugs, points, condenser, coil, cap and rotor and new oil and filter change This is a well loved original California black plate early bird that based upon records we believe spent its entire life within a hundred or so miles of Danville, California. Virtually rust free and very straight. Books and records are included all the way back to new including its original Ford factory window sticker. It is a car that can be driven and enjoyed in its original “garage find” condition or restored back to a concours perfect specimen ready for a Pebble Beach type event. All the hard work and money for a quality mechanical restoration is done. My hope is that the new owner leaves it just the way it is. As a fifty-year Private collector of vintage and classic cars, I cannot begin tell you how great it is to experience owning and driving a car that still retains much of its original patina that it has acquired over the years.
