hello my name is Robert - first off i am a ASE certified master mechanic , ASE master certified in collision and paint , and diesel repair . ive been around cars for 30 years and am familiar with them all from AMC all the way to Zuk a European truck ive worked on in the past . trust me ive been around them all - im not a expert at any of them but well versed for sure . I've owned probably about 50 over these 68-72 GM A body cars from 454 Chevelle and montes to 68 -72 455 gto's, and even a few GS400s and 455s . several olds 442's as well.Anyways here we go with the gorgeous 1968 olds w31 replica . ram rod 350 . * In the early 2000's this car was restored and still will turn heads and win awards at local car shows - it shows a bit of wear but not very much - who ever did this car did it right ! i have a 3 ring binder about 3 inches thick of receipts, pictures , color selections chips , documents and such . a car that has held up this well for 16 years after being restored is a excellent sign of good work. is the car perfect ????- no is it perfect for its age - pretty damn close. the paint shows no sand scratch , the bodywork is straight , there is no rust outside of a 3-4 tiny tiny bubbles on the etgeof the rocker , that you have to look at from multiple angles to find smaller than a pinky finger nail and no where near coming through . There is a door ding on the drivers door - about the size of a pointer finger nail - barely noticeable and no paint is chipped - The the car looks like a million dollars with the black vinyl top , the deep red paint , and black interior and gorgoues wheel and tire combination . After going through the 3" binder i found that the body work and paint work was all performed at a very reputable shop (any metal that needed rust repair was cut out and replaced with new metal ) . all the jambs where properly painted and look great(many cars have sprayed over weather-strips door latches and door hardware latch bolts - quick indicator of shotty quick work ) - this car has door and trunk jambs look proper and professional just like the exterior paint . The trim is nice on the car and the bumpers look like they have been re-chromed for sure . all the glass is in good shape as well . these are the cosmetics the guy i bough the car from gave me 2 of the 20 trophys the car has won at many car shows - he said he wanted to keep them but was nice enough to give me 2 . my grade 9 out of 10 ** the interior is immaculate - the 4 speed console is just the nicest console in any muscle car ive owned - polished chrome with rocket emblem and locking console door , gorgeous black bucket seats ,door panels , perfect dash and headliner , ralley pack gauges with working factory tach . i cant stress how nice the interior is . my grade 9 out of 10 **the frame and underside and trunk floor are perfect - no patch or hacked up floors - all original tight and rust free - frame is solid and in great shape with no pitting . pop the trunk and it looks like new inside on top and under the trunk floor mat . ** pop the hood and its equally impressive - the correct color (HI COMPRESSION GOLDEN ROCKET V8) stands out and looks amazing . the engine has been rebuilt to w31 specs with a more street friendly camshaft - has original ram rod #5 big valve heads , hi tension valve springs , flat top pistons , headers with real nice sounding dual exhaust , correct large w31 harmonic damper , and dual inlet correct air cleaner with under bumper ducts . The engine bay is painted properly and looks super super nice - factory points distributor along with proper hose clamps . The 350 rocket in this car is a impressive runner - it runs like a real 350 rocket should run, never overheats , and always hold great oil pressure . The little w31 spec 350 will be pulling you back into the seat in every gear and shifting through a rebuilt m20 4 speed is the most fun ever! 9.5 out of 10 ** 391 rear axle posi rearend with factory boxed control arms and rear anti sway bar - handling and steering effort is a breeze through the gorgeous steering wheel . brakes very good , heater and gauges all work, lights and electric all proper and insulated . very clean wiring . in summary - this car needs nothing , looks gorgeous , and was done right in the early 2000s . its not perfect but again its damn close - and I guarantee if you take it to local car shows it will collect many many more trophy's like it has in the past . I'm asking $31, 000- you wont find much more fun and better looks for the $$$ out there . i don't want to sell the car but I have moved to a new home and all practically all the roads are dirt stone roads and they would destroy this car - I also don't have the garage space so the car has been sitting outside which is just tough to see as well . it needs a new home and its very hard to let go but i have a Jeep in my sights .I washed the car on one of our warmer days - still at 30 degrees the water was freezing up on me and causing me some grief . the car will detail out and look much much better if you spend a bit more time in the right weather conditions . some of the under hood insulation stuck to some ice on the core support. you can see that in 1 picture cover and pulled a but off . I have a clear title in my name , I have the binder along with the glovebox paperwork , and i will assist in loading the car for you or your transporter . i cant think of a lot more but please ask any questions now - i wont tolerate guys that "NIT PICK" after a purchase to try and lower the price down . I'm here to provide any other pictures or even a video of the car running etc. I sell everything AS-is no matter what it is . no refunds or any returns or bullcrap . the deposit is due in 24hrs , and full pay in 7 days . no exceptions . i will immediately mail out the title once payment clears with tracking info . |
