This is a great candidate for restoration! It needs new floor pans in the front, the rear seem solid. The right rear leaf spring is broken, there was a small section of metal cut out of the lower right quarter that needs to be replaced. It would be very simple because it's just a flat piece of metal. The front bumper had 2 small bends in the bottom rail, it looked like someone caught a parking block, so I bent them back into place with a large hammer, that is the reason for the small surface rust piles they came from the inside, under the bumper. There is some rust in the trunk area, not a huge amount, just in all the usual places. I could not see any rust in the frame or gusset connections. The lower quarters are the main ares on the whole car. The glass is in really great shape, no cloudy edges or wiper marks etc. He has the original set of Ford keys, and there is a extra ignition and door key. The 390 c.i.- 300 hp engine looks to be totally complete, the radiator cap fell somewhere down in the engine area, he looked but could not locate it. We checked the engine it is not seized up. The transmission has good red fluid in it and no burnt smell. All 4 of the wheel covers are there and in great shape. The car sat out, and was covered with a small tarp to cover the top where the previous owner ripped off the vinyl top. The sun faded all the years of paint and primer, that's obviously why it has so many different shades of color showing. The body is really good and straight! I have the drivers side fender cover but the guy I bought it from said the other one fell off going down a back road, and he didn't notice or know it until a few day's later. He went back to look for it and it was no where to be found. It will need total restoration, but I feel it's very worth it. the body is straight, and the only filler I found in it was in the lower front fenders, very common on these cars and the right rear lower quarter. The outer rockers and inside rockers look to be in really good shape, with only minor rust spots. NO rust through on the roof where the vinyl top was, and only minor surface rust around the trunk seal area, another place these old T-birds like to rust. It has the "slide to the side steering column" also. All the interior trim and sun visors are in the trunk, it all looks to be straight, not bent or beat up (it does need to be wrapped up and taken out of the trunk though) It also has the complete original bumper jack, that's pretty rare! Please ask any questions or concerns before bidding. I will NOT accept any bids from anyone with no or poor bidding history. Just please remember, this is a 56 yr old car, your not going to get in, start it up and drive it home. Thanks for checking out my ad. Just please be sure #1 You can afford to purchase the car. #2 Have a way of transporting it prior to bidding as it is under my carport where I park my Mini Van, I'm selling it for a friend of mine. It's such a hassle relisting thing's because people have just jumped in and bid without thinking of these things. I just want both buyer and seller to be happy! Good luck bidding! And have a great day!Note: I have had several people as about the door trim tag. It seems this is a rare early production 63B Body code * Body Color Q Brittany Blue Metallic * Trim 52 Blue vinyl * 1st Year Series February * DOC 55 St Louis * Axle 1 300.1 * Trans 4 Cruise O Matic * Landau Hardtop |
