1963 Ford Galaxie 500. Condition is rebuilt. It is a P code Galaxie 500, and as a "P" code it originally came with a 352 4bbl and a Cruise-o-matic transmission...it is NOT an XL, everything that makes an XL is on this car. Body is straight, no rust. when I had the engine rebuilt last August I pulled the front Body clip off and had it standing in my Garage while the rebuilding was happening, The car was outside across my parking area away from the garage. On Aug 20th, my Garage burned to the ground, among the things that were melted or burned to scrap was the front clip for this car. I found another front wrap, brought it home tended to the small repairs and bodywork, Bought another aluminum radiator, surge tank, fan, hoses, etc. Also bought a new Crites Teardrop fiberglass hood. got it back to operating condition, put the fiberglass hood on it, painted everything epoxy primer black. I CAN repaint the front clip back to the candy Brandywine, but haven't done so yet. along with the car will come the stock white, metal Galaxie hood. It is a 390 v-8, 4 speed car, engine has been modified, with Ford, 3 Holley 2 bbl carbs, and Ford 6V manifold. Sanderson block hugger, stainless headers. It has a comp cams cam and lifters, new pushrods, everything inside the engine is new and balanced. Runs pretty darned good. The 4 speed is a stock T-10 with a Hurst comp plus shifter, Centerforce clutch assembly and a 25 lb flywheel. It is connected to a new Speedway, 3.70 Positive traction differential, new rear and front shocks. The car has the original NON power drum brakes with a dual master cylinder. and stops GOOD. I got tired of the leaky hydraulic ram power assist steering and replaced it with a Borgeson Power steering Box. with the correct changover tie rod ends. Front and rear bumpers are new as is the windshield. Both windshield and rear glass have new rubber seals. the trunk is carpeted and has new seal as well. The interior is 65 Thunderbird front seats with the complete interior upholstery from Ecklers for a stock 63 Galaxy 500 XL adapted to this car.. New headliner, new door sill plates all windows are good and operate well, non power. New door handles and locks,New 2 1/2" exhaust with flowmaster mufflers, ...New chrome Old school type Mags and new tires. This car drives great, runs pretty darned good (and THAT is putting it mildly)I still have the stock metal flat hood, not painted, but it can go with the car. I have a set of new front coils springs and an aluminum Edelbrock single 4 BBL carb manifold with a Holley 4150 HP carb that has been professionally "tuned" to run on this engine. (keep in mind the engine is not exactly stock any more, that is over $750 by itself. I Built this car to be a nice hard charging driver, it is NOT a show car nor is it original. it is NOT a collector car. I built it as close to one I had back in '66 as I could. The car is in the process now of having the front wrap (fenders and hood) repainted, it has all the original badges and trim. I will be painting the teardrop hood that is on it, and CAN paint the original flat hood if wanted.VIN...... 3P66X159250. |
