1952 Champion Starliner Coupe169.9 CID 1BBL-85 HP, 6 Volt system, positive ground. 3 speed manual transmission w/overdrive. Shovelnose design. Nocturne Blue top over Maui Blue body. This was Studebaker's first Hardtop convertible with a quality interior and pillarless roof.INTERIOR HIGHLIGHTS: The interior of this vehicle is in great shape and is highlighted by the sofa like front seat that has been reupholstered in an eye catching red. The strikingly designed instrument panel features easy to read and "1952 state of the Art" back lit gauges which were designed to reduce eye fatigue and glare. The dash on the car is finished in color keyed and high gloss Maui Blue paint, they just don't make cars with this kind of detail any more. The vehicle has it's original Studebaker sure grip, steering wheel with horn hoop and its pistol grip parking brake handle. The vehicle retains it's original Studebaker Radio. The door panels, headliner, and carpet are all in excellent shape as the pictures indicate. As you can see the interior of the vehicle is loaded with detail and it is all in excellent shape. The trunk on the car is like the rest of the car, in great shape and includes the factory spare and jack. The windows are original to the car, they are clear, crack free and factory tinted. Overall, as the pictures indicate, the interior of this vehicle is in excellent condition. EXTERIOR HIGHLIGHTS: The exterior of the car is just plain amazing. The body of the car is in excellent shape with excellent body fit and lines. The vehicle is finished in the very popular Nocturn Blue/Maui Blue two tone combination, the Nocturn Blue top is the original paint from 1952 and is in very good condition, the Maui blue received a repaint in 1983 or 1984 and is very presentable. The front grill which was new for 1952 features a wrap around bumper and guards which blends ornamentation including front and rear fender ornaments, exhaust deflector, Starliner medallions, and fender skirts. There is chrome and stainless trim everywhere you look and all of it is excellent, all chrome on this vehicle is either NOS (new old stock) that took years of travelling to Studebaker nationals to collect, and some of the original pieces have been re-chromed This vehicle has spent it's entire life inside. This vehicle has the very rare and original Studebaker side medallions The vehicle is equipped with factory fog lights The vehicle has excellent and correct Nocturn blue steel wheels with Studebaker hub caps and wide white wall tires that really set the car off. The car retains it's original and rust free sheet metal including quarter panes, floors, trunk and doors. The vehicle has a very good stance and a very straight body. The exterior of the car is in show condition as can be seen from the pictures. |
