CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
THE CAR SOLD FOR THE BIN PRICE, BUT RELISTING DUE TO NON-PAYING BIDDER! PLEASE DO NOT BID OR BUY IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS!BIDS FROM BIDDERS WITH LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACK TRANSACTIONS WILL BE CANCELED UNLESS VERIFIED BY MESSAGING ME.White Noise 1965 Chevy IIThis car is as period correct as it possibly can be, built the way straight axle AFX gassers were built at the height of their popularity in the 60s, right down to the drilled out frame and doors for lighter weight. The car is very well known throughout the Midwest and you may have seen it raced at the Meltdown Drags in Byron, IL. It also made the cover and feature spread article in the Gears and Gals magazine featuring the Meltdown Drags in 2013. A copy of the magazine in perfect condition is included. The car is painted in white primer sealer and has dark blue candy stripes with its name White Noise and lettering hand painted by the legendary, Ted Turner, who does all the top fuel driver helmets. This car needs nothing. Fires right up. It is a one of a kind turnkey, drag race ready straight axle AWB/AFX vintage built gasser needing only a new owner/driver, fine-tuned to your racing specifications. Ownership History:The car originally came from Alabama with Alabama plates. What started out as a shell found in a field for $800 was transformed into a period correct straight axle AWB/AFX gasser professionally built by Kip Hansberry in Beloit, WI in 2011. The original setup was a 454/30 over BBC with an Edelbrock dual quad intake and 2 600 CFM Edelbrock carbs. The second owner from Blue Springs, MO purchased the car from Kip in September 2012 and replaced the Edelbrock set-up with a Hilborn FI stack intake mated to a MegaSquirt DYI EFI unit. While the Hilborn stacks created a nostalgic look, it was not set-up properly as the Hilborn rectangular ports did not match up to the oval head ports, causing the engine to overload with fuel and run too rich. The current owner, Mark Capuano, of Canton, OH acquired the car on trade for a 56 Ford Fairlane gasser in March 2017 from JJ Armstrong, owner of Cali-Motors in Fort Myers, FL and replaced the original 454 with a new, professionally built balanced and blueprinted 454/30 over BBC with the correct heads from Summit Racing to properly retrofit the existing Hilborn FI system that is now mated to a high-end Holley EFI HP ECU. The current setup produced 542hp and 509Lbf on the Dyno at 5,600 RPM. Converting the car back to a dual 4-barrel carb set-up was considered, but the Hilborn EFI set-up was preferred to retain the nostalgic look. While the car was not Dyno-tested at the rear wheels, it is estimated to produce 460hp+ to the rear axle. The engine was built by legendary engine builder, Chuck Wright of Pro Car Associates in Akron, Ohio where installation was completed on 2/21/2018 at a total cost of $13,325.00. The engine was fully broken in on the Dyno and, since it was installed, the car has never been raced and in fact has only been taken out a handful of times to local car shows where it is always a big hit and draws a huge crowd.Build Details:Engine Build Details:Engine Machine Work & Assembly:I covered as much detail as I can document here, but I have tons more pics and will answer any questions. I have every receipt and documentation for the engine build and all the new parts and work done to the car since I've owned it over the past 3 years. I have video of the engine on the Dyno. Message if interested with your cell # for a text. Also, many more pictures. The car runs great on 93 pump gas, although will probably run as well, if not better on race fuel. It is Ohio titled, with historical plates, insured and street legal with working lights, blinkers, brake lights and tail lights, albeit without wipers. The headers have removable baffle inserts to quiet it down to an acceptable level for the street. The 3500 stall converter and full spool spline rear make it a bit quirky around corners, but the 3.89 gears make it cruise worthy on the street once you get through the gears. Can cruise easily to local car shows. I do not have previous time slips or mph details from when the car was raced by the original owner. Was told the car weighs approximately 2,650 pounds although I never had the car on the dyno so I can't vouch for the actual weight. Also, I was told that the original engine with the dual carb set-up produced 485hp. This new engine produces 542hp and is fuel injected. It's fresh and professionally built by master engine builder and retired GM engineer, Chuck Wright, who is old enough to have worked under Zora Arkus-Duntov at GM in Detroit, who is also referred to as the father of the Corvette and himself was was a professional race driver. Anyway, point being, a Chuck Wright GM engine is one of the best power plants money can buy. This car is no joke, it's the real deal. It's not a show car by any means, but it is super clean, rust free and presents itself exactly as it should, raw, loud racing muscle from the 60s.This is not a fire sale. I'm not hurting or in need of the money. I'm a 62 year old muscle car junky close to retirement and I will never race this car, but it should be and I have way too many cars as it is to barely exercise it, let alone race it! If you're looking for a car that is turnkey to take to show off at a local cruise-in, or to the drag strip, or a nostalgic gasser drag event, then this is the car for you!Unless you're a builder, you can't get this car built for less than my BIN priceI will email a purchase agreement and copy of the title to the wining bidder upon receipt of a $500 Paypal deposit within 48 hours. I expect payment in full via cash in person, or bank to bank wire transfer within 7 days of the end of auction.FREE SHIPPING UP TO $1,000 WITH MY SHIPPER OR YOURS WITHIN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. WITH BIN ONLY
