| Hello, You are bidding on a 1967 Ford Mustang Coup. (Relisted due to non-payment) This car sat in a neighbor's back yard near me for many years and was going to be my next restore. As it turned out, the work required is well beyond my driveway and tool abilities. Please look at the pics carefully as they do show the extent of what is needed. I was told the motor was not original and is a 289 or 305. As I can not find a vin tag on it, I can neither confirm or deny the claim. When I dragged it from the mud it did not run and probably hadn't for over a decade. The owner said the cover blew off years ago and he never replaced it so after wind took it's toll on the vinyl, water got underneath and the roof rotted to some degree. Water coming in rotted the floor from the inside. After a few days of work and replacement parts, I got the old pony running and much to my surprise and delight, it runs strong and smooth with no tics, bangs or otherwise. I'm running it from a gas can currently as I didn't want to take a chance with decades old gas tank funk. Tank will need to be replaced. The car will need a bunch of attention in the way of: Roof, floor and trunk pans, complete interior, break lines etc. There is rot beginning on the upper areas of the frame in the front just under the floor pans. While the car does not stop (no brakes) the C4 transmission seemed to shift fine while I had the car off the ground. I have the current NYS registration from the previous owner. It disappoints me to no end that I can't tackle this project. Had I garage, I'd have chipped away at it. I hope someone can show this old Stang some love. | |
